So that's what I hear our bike will do. Question, how fast in 1st gear and then 2nd would you need to take the bike up to in order to see that kind of performance. Seems that if you go much over 10 or 12 mph in 1st she don't like it. Thoughts?

When you take 1st to 12,500rpm, you are going more like 30-35 mph or so. I'd go for a test run to verify, but it's pouring outside. It will do 0-60 in 3.8 no problem. Just pin the throttle and hang on.

Wow, would you actually run 1st hear up to 12,500 rpm? I guess you'd have to be right on the throttle for second and quick with the shift so there wouldn't be that drop off (probably a term for it, I don't know) between 1st and 2nd.

12,500 seems a little high for 30-35 mph. I typically can hit 40 in 1st gear @ 11,000 rpm. Not that I do that as the norm but when the opportunity presents itself...well then... I guess I will see tomorrow if I'm remembering right
As for the 3.8 seconds, our bike model can certainly do that but it depends on the conditions including the rider and any extra wieght you've added to the bike such as hard bags. Remember the bike was designed around a 120lb adult male...any more than that and the performance slightly deteriorates. You can hit the 3.8 seconds with or without the clutch. Now what I like to do that is more fun...0 to 100 to 0 in 10.2 seconds; no brake locking and closed course .

it's all down to the rider and teh launch, if it bogs or slides or lifts teh front then it'll slow you down.
I've seen 54mph at 12500rpm as I've kicked into second, i've no doubt a sub 4 second time to 60 is very possible, I just can't be bothered to count mississippi's.
