well, as I stated in my initial review, this bike is all its cracked up to be. just wanted to write another one now that I open her up on a daily basis
Pros:
damn it she is still buttery smooth EVERYWHERE! After the oil was changed, the gearbox seems much MUCH smoother than the initial 600 mile period.
FLAT @SS power! from about 3K all the way to redline it just constantly pulls...smoothly! No real "power band", just a constant pull...
got caught in a storm with heavy rain for about 13-14miles on the highway...Was totally dry with exception of the outter portion of my legs...So, it DOES provide good weather protection (as long as you are tucked). Also handles the wet conditions very predictably...
for the few of us that actually care:
Dragging it is simple and predictable...Launching off the line @ 6K rpms pops the front wheel up just a tad and keeps pulling.
Handling is still as crisp as can be...I have gotten more comfortable in the corners and now have a 1/8" chicken strip on each side...I don't think I will totally get rid of the strips, but I feel this bike corners a lot more predictably than the FZ6 did...Just my .02.
The cons:
My butt hurts...The seat is great, but after logging 400 miles on back roads in 2 days...I think I will be looking into a Gel seat
Flat power: I say this as a "con" because as it is pulling through the revs, its like it wants to give you more and more...But comes up a tad short. (ok, the engine isn't designed for top end I know, but a little more oomph woulda been great!
Thats about it...Just figured I'd share since this is my 4th bike in 10 yrs...and I am still young enough to have a blast but old enough to know my limits
