I tripped over 10,000 miles coming home yesterday. The only negative thing I can tell you is the plugs fouled at 7000 miles. Once they were replaced it's been a lovely ride. The tires managed to hold up, but then again I'm not a slider or burn out man. I've made a few mods to the bike, Different seat (1250 Bandit as you can raise it 1 inch) (1 Risers) and I'm installed a temp and volt gauge this weekend. I thought about replacing the tires myself but the local Honda dealer has a deal going this month. Buy the tires from them (I checked and they have great prices) and they'll mount and balance them for free. (Can't beat that deal) I also added 1" risers to the mirror so I can see a litter better.
I've 2 - 1000 mile trips on the bike. It ran great from city to mountain riding and all thing in between. I've had it packed and loaded for a trip to Orlando and the other to the Daytonna Bike. Both trips were at speeds in excess of 80 for hours. No problems at all. We all changed bikes from time to time riding each others. Mine was hands down the one everyone like. A little more upright position and rock solid in the Florida Cross Winds.
The only time I wasn't able to keep up was when the "Big Boys" were hammer down on the super and stretching their legs. Hit the twisters and I was up front with NO problems.
The one thing I would like to see come standard is a temp gauge. City stop and go traffic really puts the heat into the engine. The fan comes on and cools her right off, but it would nice to come standard.
I'm also looking at the Laminar Detachable Wind Screen. It comes on and off pretty easy. When in town the stand screen is fine. On the super the buffeting hit me right in the chest.....a quick fix to a minor problem.
Chain life, brake pads, cables and shock wear have all been great. I'll spend 20 minutes a weekend checking bolts and nuts, chain tension and oil just to make sure. It's a solid bullet proof motor that loves to run.
I can't say anything negative about the bike. At speed the gauges are rock solid, no vibrations as the speed rises and I've seen 148 on the top end at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
I've not managed to scrap the pegs yet......That's a hellva lean.
I've been riding for 40 years. This is my (I'm not certain but I think something like 20th Bike) and I still look forward to Roxy and I having a few hours together.......

I scraped the left peg once on a trackday, in a long slow lefthander. Haven't managed to do it on the road yet Those scrape-bolts aren't very though by the way, I scraped off about 5mm in that single corner :X
