He means the exhaust manifold from the Bandit 1250.
I always presumed the exhaust manifold from a Bandit 1250 is the same as the one from the Bandit 650. But I really can't say its so. Online you can only find exploded diagrams from the Bandit 1250 and GSX650F, not the Bandit 650.
The Bandit 1250 gets its bigger volume from both a bigger Bore and Stroke. The lower crankcase is the same for both the 650 and 1250. The Cylinder head looks exactly the same from the outside, but will have different camshafts/valve and such. The part that is really different is the cylinder itself because the stroke of the 1250 is 2cm bigger then that of the 650 (64mm vs 45mm). So the cylinder part between the lower crankcase and cylinder head is 2cm higher.
Because its 2cm higher the exhaust ports are 2cm higher up in the frame so there has to be some difference between the manifolds I think.

Ah ha,
Downpipes....
I think they would fit. Same as the exhaust from a bandit650
Nice and bling bling. I dont know if it comes too close to the fairing or radiator.
But why do you want to change them for the one from the 1250 ? Does the 650 run better or get more tork..... please tell me.
I think he wants an aftermarket header that has not cat in it. Weighs less, looks better and slightly more hp.
The 1250'S headers have the CAT incorporated into it. I believe he wants to do it because the 650's headers are painted steel and tend to look pretty crappy over time from what I've seen, and the 1250's are S/S.

The chromed headers from the Bandit certainly look nicer, and would probably last longer (the GSXF's headers are cheaper and uglier, because they are protected/obstructed from view by a full fairing).
I have read somewhere that the thickness of the walls of the headers in the Bandit are different than the GSX. This leads to slightly different power characteristics (the 650 Bandit has slightly more torque, and the GSX650 has slightly more top end). There are other contributing factors (different ECUs), but the change of headers may affect performance slightly.
Whether they fit or not, I would guess no since the Bandit has no lower fairing. If you are interested in fitting them, you will need to get the two bikes side by side, and measure, to be sure however.

The headers on the 1250 are stainless steel, not chrome. Size does have it's advantages.

Right on - the 650F headers are painted dark grey / black. Mine have now turned a mottly light grey / brown colour. I clean them each time the bike gets a wash (weekly usually - love a clean machine) but alas they still look poo. I have a 1250FA in the garage too but the fairing on the 1250FA vs the 650F are different. There is a cut away section on the clutch side. I think the pipes would come very close to the fairing which would necessitate either cutting away a section or if it's not too close maybe wrapping that part with that fibreglass insulating header tape stuff. Anyways they look horn. LOL! Not sure about the engine on the 1250 being physically taller ..... will look at that but I doubt it. Working on engines all of my life I found that Ford did things like Suzuki has done with the Bandit. Different displacements were achieved by altering cranks, rods and pistons. A different cylinder deck height would mean different cam chain lengths too and that would probably play up with NVH. Anyways just wanted to know if anyone else has thought about the header swap? I'd like to fit a 1250's swing arm and front end too but I'd have to buy probably two write offs to achieve that. Just a pipe dream probably.

Well, I did the headerpipes last week.
Look at the difference. Now, after a few days of driving a really smooth ride, they turned light gray at the cilinder head, and still black at the lowest past (Katalyst)

Just google for side images of both the bandit 650 and 1250. The cylinder deck is really higher.
I just measured both my 650 and 1250 - same barrel height - 85mm approx.
Also, to get rid of the dirt from the front of your engine and brake calipers I have found the acid free mag wheel cleaner sprays you can get along with a stiff 1" brush works really well. Works a treat.

Why not remove the stock pipes & send them out to be ceramic coated? I've seen them silver and other colors before and they hold up quite nicely....
That was gonna be my suggestion. Might create a smidge more power as well, if I remember correctly from my hot-rodding days.
