I think the reason the "GSX1250F" was done was for long ride two up full load. The GSX650F as a all rounder is for a short ride two up or as a one on commute
sport bike or mild sport bike.

The other thing i noticed in this thread was Suzuki materials for the 650 and 1250
always yes is cost, but i not sure if the aluminum frame more cost, the steel tube frame that is
used aint cheap either.

The brakes can be made to bite a lot harder with change of pads
or SS brake lines, and new rotors.

My salesman Joe at Contra Costa Powersports pointed out the
bike was designed for the highway than the Track. the 41 mm "KYB"
are used to take up the highway bumps if you want the front more agressive , emulators can be installed.

The weight issue of eiither bike can be brought down by replacing the stock can
and as mentioned above lighter rotors and chopping the rear tail.

Interestingly in Oz you can buy a 1250n bandit for $10,500 rideaway , cheaper than a 650f and $5000 cheaper than a gsx1250f , the 1250n is virtually the same bike as the 1250f minus the fairings ,abs and digital instrument cluster, the N is cheaper in insurance too.

+ 1 gsx1250f would be an ideal touring bike especially if you have a pillion , i'd rather a 650f to have as a daily grinder though.

Yeah we know its a bandit ,but the small fairing just doesn't do it for me.
Its pumped up as a sports tourer here ,but if you want to tour you need a full fairing IMHO...and this is what turn people away from it as a sports tourer.

what small fairing...... interesting comments here in the posts, I put 12000 kms on one of these in 15 days, weight is almost the same as my gsx650f, hp is 97 hp, the torque is monsterous and peak torque is at 3400 rpm, you can light up the rear tire at 7000 rpm in 1st and 2nd gear and lift the front wheel at will. it is not a 2 up tourer unless your passenger is into pain as you have the same issues with the passenger footpegs being to high due to the upswept pipe. Seat lenght is around the same and yes i did have the optional gel seat. Its a great bike to ride solo and the reason i sold it was because of the 2 up issues.
There is some thing to travelling at 205 kms on the gps at 6800 rpm, It is a bonafide mile muncher, will keep up with the fjr's and alike and cost half as much to boot. Dont be fooled, it is a hell of a bike for the price.

No Dhula , still on the busa , but considering a gsx1250f or a 1250n depending on test ride ect . Have test ridden a bandit prior but at the time it was'nt what i wanted. But the bandit may suit me now either as gsx1250 or a 1250 bandit.
