Had the 18k service done today , although the bike has done 20,300km
the workshop re opened this week after x mas.

All good, had the rear brakes adjusted to give more feel, apparently they needed bleeding and the pads were glazed.

The tyres are worn out again , so i need new tyres asap both front and rear. I will try different brand tryes and see how it goes. Brake pads both front and rear will need changing within the next few thousand k's as well.

Cost of service $250 AUD.

Well done and sounds like your shop charges reasonable fees. I think few else of us are at that distance on the bike yet. At 2500mi (4000km) myself, I know I'm certanly not.

Hey Torque,
I thought you would have more miles of that thing by now. You need to stop modifying and start riding the bike. I'm at 6000+ miles and climbing.

Lol, good point! I do have some road trips planned for when it starts warming up a bit, but for now I just commute to work and around town.

Jeez 99sydrd, you are one hard core biker. Is 18,000km a major service? I am coming up to my 12 month service (haven't done the mileage yet) and I wondered how much major services cost in Australia on average?

HP - 18K is a minor , my last major was done at 12k (oct 2008) and the next major is 24k coming up soon, the cost for the major is $450 - $750 depending where you go. I pay a mechanic $450 cash which works out much cheaper than a dealer service.

Be sure to shop around and save a few bob.
