Well after getting cleaned up on Tuesday from a female driver, today I nearly wrote the bike off up in the mountains. Thankfully the bike hit a pole (the tank coped it) because after the pole was a nice 6 feet drop into a drainage ditch. Lucky me walks away with 0 injuries. What I'm more pissed off about than anything is that I had a video camera on the bike but the batteries died before the crash so It missed the whole thing.

The first accident was a set-up for the second. Coming into a corner the throttle stayed open (throttle assembly had snaped) and It was too late to do anything about it. As I was braking leading up to the corner all I remember is that the throttle stayed open and slowing down was not going to happen. I attempted to take the corner the best I could, leaned hard but still went wide and hit the gravel on the edge of the road. After that I was on the ground with the bike on top of my leg and a nice big steel pole wedged into the petrol tank. I still managed to ride the bike for another 2hrs to get it home again. The 'F' sure can take a beating.

Sorry to hear BB ,glad your ok after 2 offs .
Tell us more about the throttle snaping ???. Which part ??
Not sure myself. Only going by what the mechanic told me. While I was there he ripped the grip open/apart and small pieces of metal were just about falling out from under the grip. Because the bar end was bent out as well the combination was like having permanent cruise control. To ride the bike home I had to force the throttle off and be careful too as all the bits under the grip were just turning. Not sure how the grip links to the cable(s) but however they do, it wasn't working.

good call . Yeah notice the levers didn't snap ,so thats a plus.
Hey BB ,if your in good with your repairer ,and they still have the part that keeps your right hand throttle in place ...small U shaped piece of plactic that has a pin that fits into the handle bar ..see if you can get it ,its like $150 for the whole throttle housing and I only need to replace that small part. I'll buy it off you ,they will just toss it when they replace it with a whole new right hand throttle and switch box.

ASV levers certainly are tough sons of bitches. I think I've proven that this week. Sorry Pancake but mine aren't going anywhere. Slightly scratched on the end but in shape and working perfectly. Invest in a pair, you wont regret it.

C'mon guys, Ive barely hit the bitumen and I'm surrounded by fellow F'rs trying to scrap my bike.
If anyone needs a blue & silver low profile tank that only costs $8 to fill, let me know. I also have fairings complete with custom engraving and special speed holes, custom bend offset bars, and a unique streamlined design footbrake lever.
Thank fuck I can laugh about all this.!!!!!!
On the serious side, all the support and comments from everyone has been great. Thanks guys and girl(s). Lets hope there are far and few posts of the same nature from the members of our 650F community.!!!!!
Ride safe everyone.
Cheers. BB edit: Can someone lend me a bike for a couple of weeks. Promise I wont wreck it..................maybe not.
