They make a click click noise and i can feel it at low speeds.I really wanted to make it to 10k miles without anymore work,oh well.I'm going to get a high quality replacement though.

Man is that rough riding? Seems they should last longer than that.

How often do you clean and lube your chain? ZShould go 20 to 30 k if taken care of

i lube the chain about every 500 miles.I had it too tight for about 1k miles though, back when it only had about 2 or 3k on it.I have said this alot, but i'll say it again, i live in a place where riders travel many hours even days to get to ride. Many hills and tight turns, hardly any cops, and little traffic. So this bike takes a beating,i forget now but everybody was surprised how quick i ate through a set of pilot road 2's,like 4k miles.

Anyway if you know exactly what to order for vortex sprockets and an rk chain or length,i really want to get a good set.

Quickest way to destroy a chain is to over tighten. I've had good luck over the years and many bikes by keeping the chain on the looser end of the recommended range. What also helps maximize chain life is to do a quick clean with WD40 every couple of weeks and a light spray of chain lube.

I have 18K miles on my current chain. Looks like it may go a few thousand more.

Most people ( and Suzuki ) recommend cleaning with kerosene, nothing else ( unless you buy specialized cleaners that won't harm the O rings). You also have to remember that the parts that need the most lubrication are the side plates, not the rollers/sprocket area, although nothing should be left dry. Over tightening will also shorten the life pretty quick.

Lubrication of the chain is just like talking about engine oil. Everyone has his own opinion/way about it. One prefers wax, the other a spray can. One uses WD-40 to clain the chain up, another Kerosene/Diesel (my preference) or never cleans it at all.

Mine is...... use an automated lubcrication system. I use the Pro-Oiler, its a PITA to install if you never done it before but once its installed and set it up for your bike you never have to look at it again. Just a quick wipe every 500-1000km of the rim and fill the oil container up with new motoroil every 5000-7000km. In 14k km never had to adjust to chain going through dirt/sand/standing water and normal riding.

Now i've put it on my new bike. Which was a big PITA to install :D :D Being the first to ever install it on a ABS Speed Triple with complete different wiring then the wiring diagram of the official Triumph Manual says

Anyway, chain is lubricated perfect again. All rollers and links are supersmooth and even the mpg went up!
