You clocked that up quick. Sounds like your enjoying it all though :D

First service is usualy an oil & filter change, a check over to tighten bolts, inspect the brakes, throttle cable play etc...
Apart from the oil and filter change they will just check and inspect the bike to make sure everything is okay with it.

Price seems to vary from place to place. I've heard it costing up to $400  . Mine was free (friends with Suzuki though :D )
If you've been told $190 it's a fair price and roughly what the normal service cost should be.

1st service usually cost between $100 and $200 depending on where you go.

You're paying for the dude out the back to spend time on your bike which is usually around $100 per hour

Filter ~$25
Oil (depending on what they use) ~$30

apart form the normal 1000km service stuff think about asking them to do the following (be prepared to pay more for it tho). you might get told you don't need it done but IMO and experience get them done/checked

*ask them to hook up SDS and check all is OK (they should do this but ask anyways)
*ask for them to check the TPS is adjusted spot on (a poorly adjusted one can cause minor probs down the track)
*ask them to do a TB sync/balance for you or at least check and report back how it looks.
*check and adjust the head stem bearing tightness/tension

On another note, are L riders only allowed to do 80 kph in NSW. didn't know that.

cheers

Give "Dahlitz Motorcycles" a call (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Dahlitz+Queanbeyan&meta=&aq=f&oq=) , they specialise in Suzuki and it's where all of my money goes (and it's about 5 minutes away from Canberra). They may be cheaper. That place is run by the owner I believe and is a lot more down to earth, rather than being full of slick salesmen like CMC. I've never had problems with Dahlitz anyway.
