OK, without getting flamed for not doing a search. I'm just being lazy and over reading for tonight. Anyone know of a good set of luggage and racking? Not sure i want the Ventura scaffolding, but if there's nothing better it will have to do. Sick of carrying a backpack with me everywhere especially on the trip from Newcastle to Sydney and back.

Givi has top box options or you could go for tank bag or pillion seat clip on type options.
I got sick of back packs and went Ventura rack and bag option. Haven't regretted it but appreciate you might like a sportier looking option. Practicality first for me though as I commute daily on my F.

So because you can't be arsed searching or reading, we should all repeat ourselves for your benefit? Would you read it again, or should we just pop around your house with a few samples....?
Come on man....

There are bags that attach to the pillion seat if you would like to avoid racking althogether. Failing that, have you considered a pair of soft side bags/panniers?

I'm going to get one of these sort of racks ,its smaller then the larger full body racks like the givi or ventura. And I'll keep it on all the time for day to day riding if I need my top box fitted ,doesn't look that bad. But I'll use my givi full arms rack for touring as it can handle alot of weight . Also Check out the ventura "seat bags"..google.

I'm quite satisfied with the Renntec rack, small, neat, & quite solid. My only gripe is that the bolts that were supplied looked to be tatty zinc plate. $.65 (US) worth of stainless solved that. I've also got a Kreiga US 20 that straps to the pillion, very roomy & well thought out. For longer touring I use an ancient set of "throw-overs" , from Bagman. (no longer in existence) They look like soft bags, but have hard plastic sewn into the fabric so they keep their shape even when only half full.

I have a Ventura rack if anyone is interested. I have never used it, it was on the bike when I got it and I removed it. I recently used my Givi top box for the first time when I went on a week long 3600km tour, and it was great. If anyone is interested in a very cheap Ventura rack, let me know.

Ventura is the shiz... 2 seconds to install, 2 seconds to take off... Light weight, lots of storage room, neat.... Everything you need Just make sure you take it off when you're not using it though... Looks like crap with no bag on it...

I agree Dash - will be getting the "Grab Rail" attachment when I get around to organising mine...
FWIW the Oxfords performed beautifully on my recent jaunt around NSW and Victoria, meaning they stayed put and didn't get burnt off the Yoshi... But I'm a lazy prick and it pissed me off to have to remove them every night because they were holding my clean undies for the next day...

Check out the wreckers ,seen full racks with top cases on a few bandits at silverwater. Might be able to pick one up cheap cheap.. Double check ,but 99% sure its the same fit for our bike. Click on the 2008---2010 bikes.
