Wash mine whenever it's dirty with a low pressure hose, liquid car wash 'n' wax, then a chamois and quick ride to dry her off.

I used to hose and spray wash, but switched over to bucket of warm water and hand wash and wax. I believe its not good to spray water all inside the engine (especially of the new technical wonders). That water is not controlled and you have no idea were its going to end up getting into and sitting. Further more if your too lazy to wash/wax by hand and dont want to avoid all that eventuall damage have a detailer do it. Also I find that clear wax is better (I know some guys use a spray on. I would imagine its a leave on) but you can avoid any of those nasty white marks when trying to get in and around all that unpainted plastic. :)
