I always find this funny, even though i do this as well. I take a picture of the rear of the bike and then blur the plate number. Funny cause its out in the open 24/7 well on the road for anyone's eyes to see. Wonder why we are so paranoid online?

I guess on the road it's a 'Catch me if you can!' situation but online people get a little more info about you ie. your name, what town you live in, your facebook page with pics to identify you without your helmet on or whatever. To be honest- If I could, I'd ride with a blurred plate on all the time!

More to do with the ebay scamers are selling bikes that they say they own ,when they use your picture of your bike.

I've seen it before where people I know have had a picture of their bikes and jetskis for sale on ebay ,and not by them .
This is where you notice some of the scams ,when the area the bike is for sales is in then USA ,with a US number plate ,but says in the advert on our Aussie ebay that it's in sydney.

And i have found just being on this forum, lurkers who do not own or ride sign up just to
get into the forum data base to do scams. Yep getting the Barister BS and The Dating
stuff too.

So is good idea to blur.

Hey guys, note the location of "his" bike, looks like an empty warehouse ...
Like it is being held for ransom in some out of the way place so the actual owner or the police will not find it first
