G'day GoFast - you are the second guy from South Africa. Cheers from Oz.
The manual says up to 6000rpm for the first 800km, then up to 9500rpm to 1600km. From what has been said on this forum, it doesn't hurt to give it the OCCASIONAL blat - just don't overdo it.
Whereabouts in RSA ?

I am from Richards Bay. That is about 180km from Bryan who is also from SA.
I'll be the second person in our town to own a 650F. I went to the other people to have a look at the bike and he took me for a spin on the back. Needless to say, I didn't really had to ride it, as I made my decision sitting at the back! I am about 90kg and he was about 100kg and that bike just pulled with us both on! It was incredible. So I kinda made the choice for the fiance aswell. It's very comfy for the passenger!
Will be ordering mine during this week and hopefully when everything is done, I will pick it up next week!
I would like to stick to the manual as close as I can, because I will have to keep the bike for as long as I can. Other duties like family and marriage is on the horizon. But on the odd occasion I will push it up to (not near the redline) the top revs, but not in every gear.

Enjoy it GoFast, it's a great bike as you know.
Many congrats on the forthcoming marriage too.
The year my wife and I celebrate 33 years of marriage (and I have pushed that to the redline only occasionally) , so I wish you all the best for both occasions.

Congrats, I know you will enjoy this bike. Once you settled and got the breaking in going lets try to get the guys together for breakfast/lunch. I enjoy that ride up the coast, it's just the damn toll gates that bug me. Regards from Durban RSA.

Thanks for all the replies and best wishes guys!
I have looked at this bike for a couple of months now. I've seen every photo of it that I can, and man this is a beauty and the one I want!
Bryan we sure should! I will be brining the bike up for services in Durban all the way from Richards Bay, so after the break in, we could do a run!
I've read from many guys that they just skip the tollgates! I'm gonna try that one. But I love the compensation road from Ballito. Will be doing that one every time I go to Durban with the bike!
