In this order you should get the tires.
Michelin Pilot Road 2 Dunlop Road Smart Pirelli Angel ST Bridgeston BT-023
With every aspect of riding considered (agressive fast riding, wear, price) the PR2 are hard to beat. They do turn in a bit quicker so they give a more sportier feeling while riding. If you dont like that the Road Smart is a bit more neutral with the turn in.
Tire choice is a funny thing, everyone says different things about what they use and why that choice is the best I am not trying to start a fight here of course, I just find it interesting that some people swear by brand "A" and others swear by brand "B", even if the usage and vehicle is the same For example, my choice is Pirelli - both on my bike and my car as well as every other car I have had some responsibility for (Parents, Wife, Girlfriend, etc...) To be sure I have used others yes but, every other brand I have ever tried has let me down in some way so I will not make that mistake again

I switched from the OEM Bridgestones to Dunlop Sport Q2's. Noticed a world of difference. Bike feels much more planted now. Don't have enough miles on them to talk about longevity. I think the Road Smarts last longer.

No offense to papa r and emsguy. But you are both using (super)sport tires where as the TS is asking questions about a (sport)touring tire. IMHO (semi) race tires are unnecessarry for the capabilities of our bike. It doesn't have the agility or power to really need them.

No offense taken Kadett. It is just another option.

absolutely no offence taken. I chose the (super)sport over the (sport)touring because I thought that the extra grip of the (super) tire might save my bacon in an extreme braking or evasive situation. to me, it's just extra insurance. I'm willing to sacrifice the extra tread life of a (sport) tire for this extra edge. may never need it. hope I never do. hope I never to use my helmet either, but I bought a top of the line Arai because I have been known to be wrong in the past.
best wishes for a safe, health, and happy holiday season and a propserous new year for all, and for our country.
