My 18y old Son Has the 08 black and silver in Oakville.
I just put a carbon fiber 2 brothers pipe on it for him (its so light compared to original). Sounds sweet.

Also frame slider from Topenz (great fit and finnish)
and a Talon alarm system. Iv'e taken it out with my wife and it does everything very well.
Sport or touring its a great bike.

My son now wants a hugger and undertail for it so we'll be checking them out as well as a few more mods over this season.

http://www.bluestreakracing.ca/ For the pipe $499.00cdn great company to deal with.
http://www.topendz.com/ for the Frame sliders again great guy to deal with (simon) he has great reviews on gtamotorcycle.com
http://www.talonalarms.ca/contact/ for the alarm, it was on a group buy on the gtamotorcycle.com biker web site. the alarm has a motion sensor, parimitter sensor and ignition imobalizer.
check them all out. I have the same alarm on my Ducati.

here is a post from the next group buy for the alarms on the gtamotorcycle.com web site. check it out.

Talon Alarm Group Buy Round 2 - Anyone Interested?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I happened accross this wonderful forum when looking up info on the Talon T-3300 alarm. The thread "TALON Motorcycle Alarm Group Buy" was close to the top of the search. I missed out by one week. While I doubt we could get the exact deal, if we get enough people together we may get some savings (the first group had over 30 orders).

Take a look at the system: Talon Alarms Product Page. I have heard a lot of good things about it. At full price it is still much less expensive than the competitors.

I'm going to hold off from paying full price for a short while in the hope that we get some interest going here... please post a reply if you are seriously interested. If there are enough of us (20+?) I will contact Talon and see what they can do. I know that is pretty soft, but at this stage I'm just sending out feelers to see if this has a shot.

As I'm writing this, I get the feeling that I've missed the boat on this one. Here's hoping there are enough of you out there to proove me wrong! Thanks!

Here who is in so far:
1) iav8 - ordered & delivered & installed
2) zenrider (picked up the one from shikou) *iigi
3) CBRJohn
4) tosc2 - ordered
5) onsen
6) limeboy650 - ordered & delivered
7) Jlin - ordered & delivered *iigi
matt491
9) sobe69
10) the_madness - ordered & delivered & installed
11) Monster123
12) Magnum P.I.
13) dsan42061
14) Baggsy - ordered & delivered & installed
15) Canuckerjay
16) godsd3vil - ordered & delivered *iigi
17) JCanuck
1 kiwi - ordered & delivered *iigi
(*iigi = interested in group install)

2009-04-21 UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the rep from Talon. Here is the information that I have so far:
- the last group purchase wiped out the available stock of the Basic models, so only the models with the battery backed-up siren are available. Not a problem for me as that is the one I wanted.
- our offer is to have the perimeter sensor and shipping free with the purchase of an alarm. This constitutes approximately a $40 savings. The harness is *not* included as it was with the last group, but they were a much larger group. I think this is a nice offer for our small group.
- we can expect to get a discount code and more details fairly soon - so keep an eye on this thread.

Please note that group orders like this take time. Shipments would not likely start until early next week.

I will post further details as soon as I get them.

2009-04-22 Update: The details for ordering are in post #46 of this thread. Please read it carefully, make your order, and then *be patient*. Don't expect shipping to start until early next week. After that it could take a while to get all units shipped. Brad from Talon has been very helpful and I for one am very happy to be getting this discount.

For the sake of my own interest, please post a thread reply letting us know if you have ordered or if you have decided not to order.

Also, there were at least a couple of you interested in getting together for a group install: check this thread later for details on this idea...
