hello everyone. one day while riding i wasnt sure where i was going and wished i had gps. so i thought why not figure a way to use my android phone as my gps. only problem was mounting it. i wasnt sure about how to go about mounting it unti i ran across the otterbox defender series case with belt holster. i took the belt holster and zip tied it to the center of the handle bar and it has worked wonders over the past several months. just a fyi for anyone wanting ideas for a gps or music player.

File comment: here is a pic underneath the holster. i drilled four small holes in the holster to feed zip ties through

You seriously interupt your ride for phone calls and texts? There's nothing some one could possibly have to say that's that important.

My garage is pretty organized. That area u see isnt because its where we keep our used motor oil until we haul it off to county garage. And i as posting pics from cell phone didnt know how big they were actually gonna be nor do i know how to resize them ha. And yes i will stop if someone is trying to get ahold of me. Its could be important.

I listen to music on my Iphone while riding using special ear plugs that block the noise as effectively as those orange ear plugs. It's great for long rides. But I'm also on call a lot
so if the phone rings the music automatically mutes during the ringing so I can hear that someone has called. I typically don't stop or interrupt my ride but it reminds me to check
out what's happening next time I stop. It doesn't happen very often so it's not a big issue.

I also have Tom Tom GPS software on my Iphone so if that's running the music mutes for directions as well. But even better it warns me of speed cameras.

So all in all I find having a phone, although it's in my jacket, quite nice.

You may want to consider the Sena bluetooth helmet unit.
It's very small, fits on your helmet, has a mic and two speakers.
The controls simple and ez to use with gloves, one large volume dial and an ON/OFF button.
