My GSXF has been lowered 1". I want to get the centre stand, but not sure if it will work ok with the bike lowered. Has anyone tried this with their GSXF?

Is it very hard to get the bike up onto the stand? I was thinking that because the bike is 1" lower that the angle of the stand would make it much more difficult to 'rock' the bike onto the stand. One guy at the dealership said that there is alot more weight to get the bike on the stand and most people can't do it safely. I'm only 60kg and not built like Hulk Hogan.

Just went out and got the stand from my local dealer $235-. Easy to install, except for the springs, Took a little effort but got them on using a screwdriver to lever them on. I'll be damned if i can get the bike anywhere close to getting it on the stand. The stand is at a 45° angle when it touches the ground and i can bearly get the bike to move trying to get it up. I got a mate at work to try, he is 6'6" and weighs 125kg and he can't get it on the stand. We must be doing something very wrong as we're nearly lifting the entire weight of the bike to try to get it on the stand. We stand next to the bike in neutral, left hand on the left handlebar, right hand on the pannier bracket and right foot on the stand lever and try to rock the bike back while pushing on the stand lever. Yes, the stand is installed correctly and is the right stand, well the instructions say GSX650F/FUK8 Just got a 3rd helper and managed to get it on the stand, but took two of us to get the damn thing off.
Not Happy Jan.

HI, run the back of the bike up onto a board or some such thing about 40 to 50mm high and then put it on the centre stand. You will find that it goes up on to it very easily once you have done this. I had the same problem when I lowered mine 1". when you have put it on the centre stand you can remove the boaed if you so wish.

So i have to carry a board around with me incase i want to use the centre stand while out on the road Maybe a couple of cans of spinich Not what i was expecting. I may consider 'unlowering' the bike so i can use it properly and get full travel from my forks back.

Eospro, It's all in the technique.
To get the bike on the stand, push the stand down on the ground and centre the bike up on it, and then you have to push down real hard with you foot (put all your weight into it) while gently lifting/pulling back on the bike. I grab the frame just under the side panel of the bike with my right hand hand and just hold the bars straight with my left. I found it's like 80% with your foot and 20% lifting the bike back. When I first tried to get mine up, I was busting a gut trying to lift the bike onto it and getting nowhere fast. Dig your foot in and the bike just about jumps up on the stand. You'll figure it out.

Very true BikerBoy. It is more of a pushing down with your foot than it is pulling up. It does take a bit to get the technic but it gets really easy. The springs will loosen up as well. Mine goes up soooo easy now.

Well, gave that a go, no luck. I had my whole 60kg bouncing on the stand. It just ain't gonna happen with the bike lowered. I have never had such a drama in getting a bike on a stand before. On Saturday i'm taking the links off and putting the original back on as well as putting the forks back where they were. I will try it then and if i still can't get it on the stand, i'll shoot myself.

I watched about 4 videos, they all say the same and that is what i'm doing. It's not rocket science and not hard. I also noticed that on the videos when the stand touches the ground it is alot straighter than on my bike. Still i can bearly get the bike to move. It has to be because the bike is too low. No one can get my bike on the stand, four people have tried now and 2 of them have bikes with centre stands.
Thanks for the ideas anyway. I'm sure it will be fine once i raise it.
