just wondering if these are alternatives to dog bones or seat shaving. i'm thinking if the spring is set to softest the bike should move down more when i sit on it. and maybe a lower profile tire is possible to bring it down a little more?

Well, has anyone changed the load spring setting from the factory setting? My dealer said don't do it until after the break in period but I'm just curious for opinions.

Changing the suspension that dramatically is going to dramatically change how the bike handles, especially when in a lean. I think what your dealer is trying to tell you: Try and get used to it before doing anything drastic. Or get the bones.

The spring preload is more for setting the "correct" sag for your weight on the bike not raising or lowering to make it fit. If you're too heavy & lower the bike with preload only you will find yourself running out of suspension & bottoming out.

Whitey is right but also the F's suspension is actually quite soft and if you're 80kg plus in your jocks you need the suspension up to at least 5, 7 if you're pillioning or going hard, to maintain handling. Also dont go mucking around with tyre size. The engineers tell us to use the size we use for a reason. Profile will make no difference (besides we use a 17" rim) but perhaps risk your skin. There are seat options you can use or specialised lowering kits. Dont play with tyres or suspension until you know how the bike will react. i'm 82kgs, 178cm and l ride with the preload on 6. l would actually like to increase my ride height to get a quicker turn in but thats another thread.
