Hey Folks,
So I went with my family to a nice tour to Mt. Rainier, it just was AWESOME. Well on the way back, we got separated and when I saw the rest waiting on a bay I wanted to merge to it, so we can regroup, UNFORTUNATELY, my brotha forced me to swerve and I landed on a patch of nice and fine sand........ I guess y'all know, what's going to follow.

I dropped my Suzi to the left ARGH!!!!

Here's the character builder:

Now I figured, that this is the magneto cover and will cost me to replace about $200 (Oil included and doing it myself). Now here's my question, do you think it make sense to just have a shop sand it down and repaint it?

Thanks for your input.

Dont do anything about it :)

If on the sidestand nobody will notice it, and on the road you're either riding or standing still for a traffic light. After my high sider I only replaced mechanically damaged parts. The cosmetic didn't bother my when riding.

Now is the time to buy the R&G engine case cover and fit it over the top.

Hey mate,
I thought of it and eventually will go for it, I'm waiting for FedEx to deliver my frame sliders from T-Rex racing and hope that it will help it foremost.

Do you have those covers? Can one remove that ridiculous decal , sorry but this is just butt ugly.

No I don't have them, but have seen them on several bikes at various meets. They usually get fitted when, like yours, the bike is dropped. Much cheaper than replacing the case.

Don't know if you can remove the logo, but it is probably only a transfer so a borrowed hairdryer may take it off.

hey RED

This Winter, borrow yourself a gasket remover (air grinder, with a wirey sort of pad on it) and remove the top surface of your stator cover. with some sanding, you'll get rid of that unsightly scar, and polish it up at the same time. after some mother's, it'll be near-chrome, with no gashes in it.

You're welcome.

Thanks Voided, great hint as I appreciate it.

My SuziF is currently at a paint shop for some rear seat cowl and side cover tune up (ARGH, that F#$%cker wasn't done yesterday!!, so I gotta wait another week to have her back, boy am I in a mood  ) If he gets done, he told me to do just that, what you suggested.

I'll post some picks, when I return from my biz trip next week.

Yep Nite, I forgot that it ever happened, and my brotha! He got a 3rd and 4th one from me torn *GRIN. Bad part tho, my Son dropped his Boulevard C50 the other day... boy was he destroyed, so me having gone through it already made me help him to be lifted up.
