I have to admitted that this may seem alittle anal to most. but now I don't have to fiddle around with my key chain. The How-To is quite simple.
Needed: Extra garage door opener small project box (Radio Shack) wire Momentary button soldering skills
Curcuit Board: I removed the curcuit board from the garage door opener, drilled two small holes in the corner large enough for a wires to go through, soldered the wires to bypass the curcuit board switch. ran the wires outside the project box and ran them through the frame to the front. Switch: I removed one rubber gromett from the left side of the frame (just in front of the tank) ran the wires through the hole and soldered momentary switch. fitted switch in hole and mounted securely.
I chose to do it this way, as the bike has only 1000m onit and I am not yet ready to drill holes in the dash plastic, besides this is very un-noticable and stealthy. Take a look at the image.

I lost my garage door clicker last tuesday and had to erase the memory off the garage door and reprogram a new one. I was thinking of doing the same. They make one for bikes but it looks funny and its bulky. I actually like your idea. good thinking.

I like to read the owner's manual or downloading from the web and I reprogrammed based on that.... Most of the new ones have a reset button on the motor / module and can be restored quite easily. Good luck.
