Hey all,
Thought you might like to see a couple of snaps of my mate, Cadel; a bit of a tribute ride in Melbourne yesterday. Hope you appreciate the pics - I had to push a few lycra (sp?)-folk out of the way; easy coz they're tiny.
Rolled up on the broom-broom, not expecting much – perhaps a snap over the top of the crowd as the dude rides by.
But absolutely fluked a second row posi at the start line; five minutes later, he appears and after the corporates and cameras clear, well…
…someone in the crowd yells, “Three cheers for Cadel…”
…then his mum jumps out of the support car and someone yells, “Three cheers for Cadel’s mum”…
…then after another couple of minutes, he steps off his bike, coz the politicians at the finish line are still having make-up applied (or something)…
…and starts chewing the fat with the crowd for another five minutes!
Wouldn’t have made the effort (about a 50km round trip), but for the Fandit - parked about 20 metres from my posi.
What an absolute blast!
