What are the settings for 1 thru 4 on the Clutch lever?
Is 1 the most dis-engage, or is 4 the most dis-engage or what?
Just checking because mine seems to shift better on #4 setting, or is it just in my head?

Thanks for any info

All it does is move the lever closer or further away from the bars to adjust for different sized hands.

It has no effect on the amount of engage or disengage.

Thanks, I'm glad I asked. It proves that alot of stuff is perceived in one's head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I only feel dumb for a minute, and now I know!
Appreciate the help.

A "dumb" question may be one that someone else appreciates the answer to just as much as you do. Even if it is a bonafide rock-hard stupid, whattaya-mean-where's-the-valve-stem-on-a-tire duh-level you-gotta-be-shiating-me question... we ought to always keep a welcome atmosphere for learning. I'll ask my share of questions that I'm sure have some people going, "Really? You asked that?"

Yes. Yes I did. :D

It may not just be in your head. Your hands will be better suited to a particular setting and will give you more clutch control and a different "feel". Personally, I need the lever as close to the bars as possible or I have trouble operating the clutch.

Hey, I thank you guys for going easy on me and treating me good.
I always tell my kids "when you think you know everything then you're really full of crap. "
Thanks for making a great forum where people feel at ease asking stuff.

Jim, I know exactly what you mean about what is percieved in your head on this particular issue.

I installed a new set of ASV brake and clutch levers the other day, and the first thing I seemed to notice while on the first ride with them was just how much easier and smoother the shifting was. From a mechanical point of view this just isn't possible as it was just a lever change but at the time I could swear it made a huge difference.

After a couple of days with the new levers, the only difference I notice now is that they just look better. Shifting is the same as it's always was and always has been.

Just incase your wondering I never noticed how much quicker I was stopping just because I had a new ASV brake lever.
