Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been here for a while, been stuck in a move so I've had very little time. Can't wait to post up some images of all the things I've done to the bike though.

Being stuck in a move my GSX manual is lurking in some dark corner inside one of a dozen boxes, so I can't consult it at the moment. But I was wondering what the resevoir on the right side under the seat is for. I may be wrong, but I reckon it's for coolant. I'm asking since it seems to be empty....yeah, 'empty' :?
If it is for coolant, does anyone have an opinion on what type/brand to use?

Yeap coolant is under the seat ,its the one with the small round black lid.

Can't recomend what one is best ,as your location and weather will play apart in whats better for the
temperature.

Do note that the reservoir is not supposed to be full!

The level is marked on the hose, there are two lines. The coolant level should be between the two (cold engine, bike vertical).

I just checked my coolant level and it was right at the L mark. It only took about 2 ounces to Bring it to the F mark. It's a little odd that it would be low after only 6000 miles. I'm gonna have to remember to keep an eye on it.

Just got home from wal-mart and filled it back up. Made sure to get a silicate/nitrate free coolant suited for aluminum radiators.

Got a pre-diluted one from Prestone. Took a LOT to fill it back up, much more than 2 ounces. Good to know my eyes weren't playing tricks on me 8)
Possibly saved my engine.

Either you need to kick the ass of the dealer who prepped the bike or there is some sort of leak somewhere. Coolant doesn't just disappear. Good thing you caught it.

pull the tank and check everything frumuna.

Check for leaks and signs of coolant on metal surfaces.

rig up the bike so you can see frumuna while the bike is running and warm it up, then check for leaks again.

could be simple as dealer didn't top it up for you
could be as bad (and I'm not trying to scare you, but trying to be helpful) as a head gasket that's leaking coolant into CC's or a porous head/block

It looks a little lower now after all this time, but not significantly. Gonna take her out for a ride today and will check her afterwards once she's cooled down. Gonna take her in if it's a lot lower than it should be.

I've got about 3,000 miles on my bike and my coolant level is nowhere near the mark, but im sure its not that low. I know the mixture is 50/50 but what color is the coolant, green or red?
