I pulled my tank today to see if there was a way to insulate the fuel line and rail to alleviate my vapor lock issue. So far I really can't come up with a good way to do that. Anyway, I noticed that the coolant lines are running through the throttle bodies. I know Nissan does this to raise the air temp coming into the TB when its cold. However, it does the same thing when its hot out, raises the air temp going into the combustion chamber. Hot air is not what you want going into your engine (hence the cold air intakes for vehicles). I have done a TB coolant bypass on my 93 300ZX and my 02 Sentra. I'm debating on trying it on the bike next. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on why I should or shouldn't do this. Its looks to be pretty simple, find the inlet hose and outlet hose, and connect them to maintain the coolant flow but removing the TBs from the coolant circulation (just like I did on my cars). Any thoughts?
