I just purchased Cortech sport bag and saddlebags for my bike. The quality looks good as well as the fitment. I needed bags that were able to carry camping gear and clothes for 2-4 day ventures and they should serve my needs well. I'd personally rather have rigid bags like those made by Givi, but price was part of my consieration. The set cost me around $170 US. Cheers.

Mine are similar....I have the Nelson Riggs CL-950's and a tail bag. They work great, are easy on and off, and I like just being able to leave them at home and go bagless and bracketless and whatnot. And, of course, price was very low ;)

I've got the sport tailbag and love it! I had one of the Rapid Transit bags and thought it was horrible. My only gripe with the Cortech bag is that I wish it was waterproof. At any rate, saddlebags will be purchased next trip :)

You're right regarding the bags not being waterproof, I don't like that either. The bags did come with some rain covers, but it doesn't look to me that they will work very well... Can't say for sure though, since I haven't tried them.

Those do look great. Can you please post a link if possible to where you got it, whenever showing merchandise the rest of us might want to look into? Thanks!

no, you would need a rack to do that. Not enough room on the tail.

Can you give an update on your Cortech bags? I'm considering getting them too. Do you still recomend them?

I bought the Givi 29 litre bag. my last bag was hooked on the seat with bungee and a local fellow unhooked it and walked off while I was at the traffic light so I needed one which could lock onto the bike. I just did not like the metal work which came with the Givi so I ordered the Motech bracket (took 3 months to arrive). I had to make up a seperate mounting plate for the Givi plate to bolt onto but it's finally done. I did choose to reverse the mounting because this is my work bag and my commuter bike so I dont carry a pillion when I have the bag on, this was because I don't want the bag to stick out too far behind the bike. The bag is big enough for a weekend trip and also has a rain cover but as yet, it's untested. Regards from Durban RSA.

Wow. Sounds like hostile territory.

Yep this is a really hostile place to live sometimes, you can't even risk sitting outside in your own back yard with a steak on the fire anymore, there are too many cases where they come over the fence/wall with 9mm's and AK47's and steal, rape, murder etc for your cash, cellphones, tv/dvd player and car. Have to live behind high walls, electric gates and alarm systems connected to armed response security teams. It's a shame it's a really beautiful country. Friend of ours arrived home the other night, she's 33 with 2 small kids, when she stopped at her gate they stopped behind her jumped out their car, shot her in the stomach, pulled her out the car and drove off with her car. Luckily she is on the mend. I'm still struggling with uploading the photos. Regards from Durban RSA.
