Hi,
What do people think about crash bungs? This being my first big bike I have realised it is quite heavy compared to the 125 and er500 I've ridden when learning. Also the side stand can be a bit temperamental, and I've had to catch the bike a couple times! Would crash bungs help if it fell onto it's side or would the fairing be damaged even if the bike fell onto it's side stationary with the crash bungs fitted? I've seen them for about £150 and have read the fitting write up by another member. Any opinions appreciated!
Cheers. Dan

Yep. Worked for me when I had to lay it over after loosing balance, Just a minor scrape on the bung, and back of the mirros. No fairing damage at all. Top buy. Unless you buy second hand and they are already fitted.. I say BUNG too... BUNG BUNG BUNG.

IMO the crash bungs are a 50/50 chance of anything getting damaged. They can save a bit of damage but at the same time can do very little.
I dropped my bike from a stationary position the day I got it and the damage was 1x busted indicator. No scratches or anything else. I've seen a dropped 650F with the crash bungs and the damage was 1x busted indicator, a broken mirror and a scratch on the fairing.
I had a significant accident and came off at speed and did a fair bit of damage. I've seen a 650F on this forum with the crash bungs fittied dropped at speed and the damage was still similar and in some places it was worse.
