Hi guys,

More or less for owners of the full power GSX, what is the part number of your ECU? I'm looking at buying the full pony ECU but there are several part numbers...

Mine being restricted is a 32920-17H70

on the pic from the parts list, there is a 32920-17H50 and 32920-17H60

does anybody know which part is the correct one? I understand the European ECU will not cause the Fi light problem.

Thanks,

Marty

This is a link to cheapcycleparts.com, key in your year, model, brand, OEM parts and have a look under electrics, there is a schematic for all the parts, zoom out to see the whole schematic, this is a US site and may be different for the Aussie models but i dont know for sure, I have used this company ordering on line many times and they have been reliable, good luck

Cheers Maurice

Mine was from the UK, just changed the ECU over without any problems/no modifications.

I understand the UK/European ECU is a straight swap and causes no issues, but do you have the part number thats on your ECU?

As stated before, there are 2 options being the 17H50 and 17H60

I assume one is the USA model and the other may be the Euro,

So which one is the Euro part?? That's the one i'm after as im in Aus

Thanks

Hi Meetone, Please let us know how you go with the ecu and where you get it from. I have a restricted 650f too and am looking to do the same, Getting bored of its lack of power. ive seen a few people selling full power ones on this forum, not sure if there still for sale though.

Hi Hayden
You will not believe the difference the unrestricted ECU makes. Like a totally different bike, even the lower revs are smoother.
Where in Sydney are you, I'm in Botany.

hi Aearthnick,

After riding dirt bikes for 10 years with over 50hp off one cylinder, its a bit of let down going to 4x the cylinders but almost half the power.
Oh well, still a great bike to ride and learn on. Best LAMS bike out there.

Im in Berowra, About 15mins north of hornsby.

Good luck with the ECU. Keep trying the eBay UK.

I've found some cool info,

The ECU marked with E33 is the Californian chip that has the enchanced emissions restrictions.

From gut feeling I rekon the ECU that doesnt have this designation should be OK to run with.

If anyone has any info to the contrary, i think i'll order one of these from a USA store and see how we go, unless a cheapy appears on ebay that is =)

Hope this helps

make sure this is correct info as I have a 1250 ECU from california in the shed and it does not have E33 marked on it but I know for a fact it is off a bike that is.

Once thing I have noticed apart from the part number of the ECU is the letter in the white part of the sticker.
Both of Australian ECU's I have on the bikes have a 'A' marked on them as per the pic above, but the USA ECU (E33 type) has a 'C' on it.

I don't know 100% if it means anything, but it could so it may pay to look into it.

Thanks for the tip dhula.

I found an ECU on ebay from USA for US$115. It's marked as a 32920-17H50 (with a B on the sticker).

I did find a website that showed the californian ECU is marked as 32920-17H60 (marked with a C on the sticker).

I bought the ebay ECU today, probably wont turn up for 2 weeks but once I get it ill plug it in and post on this forum again to let others know of this was successful or not. In the end if I burn $120 im not too upset, as a retail OEM ECU goes for between $800-$1200.

Also have a K&N air filter and the yoshi TRS SS coming in the mail so i'll report on those aswell for anybody interested. I've decided ill test the new ECU only to make certain it functions and the EFI light doesnt blink (in the absense of an EVAP system in the fuel tank), but then i'll put the LAMS one back in to avoid any potential problems with the law if i do have an accident.

Once im off my P's, the new ECU can be thrown in, and il do my best to try and register it as a full pony.

Also note, for any1 looking for one of these full pony chips, there's not 1 day since i posted this i didnt check ebay/online parts shops etc to finally find one at a decent price. My advice is to keep trying every day until another GSXF is being wrecked. Sad to know a rider fell, but at least we can find spare parts when we need them.
