Hi all, Just noticed one exhaust pipe near front and bottom of bike where it has a 2 inch scrape and the pipe is bent in a little flat. No metal is pierced or hole yet. I don't recall riding over any large potholes or obstacles and never felt when this occurred. My question, is there anything to prevent the pipe from puncturing if it gets scraped again? Perhaps clamping a thin piece of sheet metal around the pipe might be ok or any ideas of some kind of high temperature exhaust tape??

if the pipe is not punctured you should be alright. My concern is much is it dented and how did it get dented. I would take it to Suzuki dealer and have them check it out.
Good luck.

Somethin' ain't right about that.

Could be the Suzuki place created the dent before selling it. What person would normally inspect that part of the bike when buying it brand new? Could be the bike slipped off something when they were putting it together, or getting it ready to be sold, or something during warranty maintenance.

I agree with the previous poster. Bikes sometimes get scratched or dented in the crates.

Thanks for the replies. I did just get the bike back recently for the 600 mile service and am starting to think perhaps someone tried to jack it up from there rather than using a front stand. Who knows, I just hope I don't finish it off on some pothole!!
