Hi, one thing i would like to ask you owners about the gsx650f is about vibrations, i know most fours have them midrange and my last bike cbf600 honda would vibe a little at 5000rpm, this was annoying as the mirrors blurred at this speed :x ..i am looking for a super smooth ride without annoying vibes of any kind, if i buy this bike what can i expect?
thanks in advance..

Briso, In my opinion, this is a very smooth machine all the way up the power band but admittedly I have not been above 90mph yet. There may have been some slight vibration near redline, can't remember as I only did that after breakin a few times. I believe the 08' handlebars are rubber mounted, I know the 09's are as its in the documentation. You could also add heavier bar ends to the handlebars if you like. The footpegs are rubber mounted where they connect to the frame.

My feet are very sensitive to vibration as I am pre-diabetic and this is reason I had to get off my previous machine a Boulevard S50 (basically an intruder 805) and onto this one, which I intend to keep for long time. I think the inline 4 is much smoother than a v-twin because the stroke is shorter. And I know this machine is smoother than what my 05 Kaw Ninja 500 twin was.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.. if you had no vibes up to 90mph thats good coz on most bikes they kick in around 60-70mph,will be interesting to hear from other members..

Hope this helps.

Overall the bike is very smooth in terms of engine vibration. You know it is running, but it's relatively vibration free where your body comes into contact with the bike. The wind does seem to blur my mirrors a little bit at highway speeds with the engine adding just a bit to that minor issue. The mirrors remain clearer than those on any twin cylinder bike I've ridden.

I am a new rider, since last year. I've had this bike for 3 months, and it's broken in and ready for some long trips and serious riding.

I was expecting some vibration of the mirrors, but I've been up to 90 mph and there's no vibration of the mirrors at all. I do plan to change the mirrors, because I don't like looking at my left arm. So, I may add extenders, perhaps switch the mirrors left to right, and right to left, as someone on this forum said that worked.

This is the smoothest inline-4 I have ever owned (this is my 4th). On my bike there are very minor vibes through the handle bars at 100kph (60mph) that caused my hands to tingle after 2 hours of straight riding, but I should point out I have carpal tunnel and my hands are extremely sensitive to this. The vibes dissappear above this speed.

When it comes to smoothness I think that if this bike isn't smooth enough for you nothing will be.

Hey hp, I wonder if those grip puppies would help you at 100kph or maybe you already have them? I received mine but its too cold to put on but in few weeks I will know. Maybe you could try a different set of grips, I know pro grips are very good. Also, seriously consider going with heavier bar ends. This worked on my ninja 500. More weight translates to the bar vibrating less. I don't feel need for them so far but if you have an issue it may help.

PS: I know getting stuff here in states is $ for you. I added a few heavy washers to existing bar end on my ninja and noticed a difference.

Thanks for the advice bikrdn. I have tried grip puppies before but I didn't really like the additional thickness they added to the grips. Its not really a problem for me, I dont often go on long rides and the vibrations aren't sufficient for me to notice on my daily commute.

But as you mentioned, there are solutions for anyone with hands as girly as mine that are bothered by the tiny vibes the 650F offers.

This is one of the smoothest small displacement bikes I have ever owned. At about 5k rpm there is a minor vibe that can be felt through the frame. Other than that the bike is smooth all the way through the rev range. I've frequently traveled at 120mph + and it is silky smooth compared to other small inline fours. I think the weight of the bike helps a lot.

Very, very smooth. No foot peg vibration that I have noticed. Grip puppies are great. At 130MPH registered I wasn't thinking about vibration.
