Hi ivershay, well I haven't installed this kit yet, been still pondering as to, do I really want it or not. Currently I'm waiting for my Yoshimura pipe and will see how that looks. For what I can tell by searching the web, it not the best instruction Competition Werkes delivers, a few things needs to be cut/altered and such. The closet to tips and hints I found are the following links:

Lol... Im in the same boat, i've got the thing sitting in my loungeroom right behind me. Gunna have a crack at it this weekend with a mate. It looks pretty self explanatory. If i run into any snags, or points of interest, i'll let you know

Wow your bike looks awesome!!!, I would also say that this is a TRC pipe.
according to UPS my TRC will arrive today YEAH, so I'ma gonna be busy tonight , What fender eliminator are you using? It doesn't seem like the one from Competition Werkes? Will post some pics and maybe a video for the sound. I love the sound from Yoshimura pipes!!

I installed my Competition Werkes fender eliminator over the winter, so my memory is a bit sketchy. I don't remember it being too difficult, but it does take a bit of time to cut off the old fender neatly. As I recall, the drawing (sketch) on the instruction sheet is a bit ambiguous.

This is the bit that concerns me - as a general rule, I don't want to cut into any original parts of the bike in order to fit something else, because I want to be able to return it to stock without buying anything...
So, can someone please detail exactly what needs cutting?

Hey all, I installed mine last night with a mate. Took about 2 and a half hours, a haxaw, a stanley knife, a file, and half a carton of VB cans... Nightcreeper, if you don't want to cut the original parts off your bike, then the Competition werkes one isn't for you.
Pretty much, you have to pull the rear fairing off the bike, disconnect all your blinkers and tail light etc, and start cutting into your original mudguard. I'll get a picture in a sec of where to cut, but you have to cut right up the top of where your mudguard stops, and where the plastic bends at an angle to meet the fairing. Doing this removes your number plate light. So once you start hacking, there's no going back. Pretty much, if you cut all the way around the mudguard, the stainless steel plate fits perfectly to the shape of the bike. Chuck a few self tappers in the places instructed, wire up the LED provided, and your done. Looks tidy as. With the clip ons and the low front end, the yoshi, and the fender eliminator, it makes my bike look like a gixxer with a better seat and different windshield. It was pretty straight forward i thought, although i've heard a few people whinge about the instructions, just a bit of common sense and ingenuity (thats right, we're all mechanical engineers after a 6 pack or so, at one point we started throwing the concept of mounting my mates ZX6R engine, which was on the ground as he's getting some stuff done to the frame, in my bike... Genius!1 How could that possibly go wrong!?!), and it was a pretty standard easy install. Now i'll try and find a picture, or if i kept them, i'll scan the instructions so you can see exactly where you have to cut

Cutting the fender off just under where the bolts go for the number plate is what I did NK...hand hack saw and blade from bunnings hardwear and some sand paper to smooth the edges...$10. This way the fender still does most of its job ,of stoping rains etc flicking up. If you think your going to loose value of hundreds {I don't think you will loose 1 cent } then when you want to sell , buy a fender from the wreckers for $50.

Thanks Dashy and Dog... It's not a question of resale value to be honest, it's a personal thing - I believe my opinion on the matter is widely known here. And I've had the 2nd-hand wrecker-fender thought too, but my idea was to buy one and hack that up We'll see, but it doesn't look like vendors are coming up with anything new, and I'm gonna hate that fender once I fit the Yoshi.

Not only did I get the Yoshi (next week...), but I got a surprise into the bargain! Lips are sealed though I'll tell you one thing however: this week something clicked between me and this bike, and we are now one, as it should be.
I haven't done as many miles on it as you might think...
