and i can't believe it took me this long to get around to do it . They are awesome ! I got the SW Motech ones from Twisted Throttle ( the up & back ones , 33 mm. ) They are probably one of the best things i have done to my bike besides the Sargent seat and my Leo Vince. They take sooo much pressure off of my wrists and riding my bike is now so much of a joy ! Installing them was as easy as pie too ! Gotta give em' a 2 thumbs up :D !

I take it there was enough clutch and brake hose, throttle cable and wiring harness length?
I have had mine over a year...still in the box :o

@judd:

Any chance of some pics of the risers?

If so, can you also include the Sargent seat - I'm close to pulling the trigger on one, but don't know whether to go for the black welts (seam piping) or orange to go with my bike...

All the lines were pretty good to go. Just a little tweek here and a little tweek there . Nothing major though. Plenty of slack .

Is replacing the front brake line a "little tweek"?
Do I need to replace my front brake line to make them fit???

No i have had those Galfer brake lines for some time now. I wouldn't think the stock brake line would be any different .All the other lines were good to go so i would think the same for the brake line as well.

I have the SW Motech 1 inch up and back as well. As I've stated previously no line replacement was necessary, there was enough slack with a bit of a jiggle of some cables.

I'm thinking this is the next mod for me... I did 1500k last weekend, this is needed.
How much would I expect to pay? Do you think they will affect how the stock windshield works (cause buffeting)?
These are universal right?

Don't believe risers for 650F are "universal" ... at least not the upnback one.
Twisted Throttle's price is approx $110-140 for the upnback ones.

I just installed these tonight... haven't been able to ride yet, but I can tell by sitting on the bike that these are just what the doctor ordered... they better be for the price of these chunks of metal!

All the cables fit just fine with these risers... but a note to anybody with ABS brakes, the ABS line is really really tight, perhaps to tight.

The risers are SW Moteck, Part#LEH.00.039.152 available @ Twisted Throttle for those interested.

OK...sorry for asking so often if they fit with the stock front brake hose

Last winter I went out in the garage to put mine on I thought to myself that they shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to install drinking a beer right? Well when I pulled the bars back to put them in the risers the front brake side fell short by a long shot, I was cold like a MoFo and impatient and didn't feel like dicking around with it at the time so I figured I would get a new brake line or whatever this spring and make them work.

So today I went to install them again (seeing that everyone says you don't need a longer front brake hose) I SAW MY PROBLEM...my front brake hose was routed outside of the cable stay when the bike was assembled at the dealership, I rerouted it inside where it belonged and had just enough hose to make the trip 8)
Thanks for listening to me ask the same question over and over for the last year

Glad you were able to get to the bottom of the problem... sometimes the simplest things make life difficult.
I completely got rid of those cable stays... I still have to get a longer ABS line, but it works for now.

How do you like the bar risers? I was expecting a lazy boy experience... not so much! It's better, but it's no FJR1300 (my next bike I think).

They help me keep some weight off my wrists (that are shot from dirt bike riding) I also have them on my GS500F. I didn't have any problems without them...I would just climbed up on the tank dirt bike style, now I can sit on the seat 8)
j/k I really do think they are one of the best mods you can do, especially if your not a kid anymore
