I picked up my new baby from the dealership last night. The rain died off a couple of hours before I did, so no need for the rain gear. Keeping under the 6K RPM mark is HARD; I felt like I was driving it like a granny' in the slow lane. Did another quick run around town with a buddy after he came over to see it. I'm taking it out this morning and should get about a hundred miles on it as I am going to see some friends. (Fiddy' miles each way maybe longer since I'll take the scenic route!) I can't wait to get it broken in so I can test the upper power band.
I noticed the gearing seems short in 1st and 2nd, but I am coming off a Yamaha YZF600R so it has a much longer 1st gear. Shifting is smooth and I had no trouble going at low speed in the parking lot even in 4th. Love it so far, but I knew I would. More info when I get more miles under my belt.

It would be interesting to hear a comparison to the YZF600R once you have a few miles under your belt. It seems the closest bike to this in function (a tad sportier I suppose then the GSX650F), but the GSX has a newer engine with FI, much nicer instruments, etc...
I don't think the stock seat is very comfortable. I need to look at some options there.
1st and 2nd gear are pretty short, but again I am coming off a different bike. I am fine shifting through the gears. I "missed" 2nd gear once, instead hitting neutral. I attribute it to getting used to the new bike. Gearshift is flawless and smooth.
I think having the bike about an inch lower will make "duck walking" and getting in/out of the garage a bit easier. (I wear a 30 inch inseam.)
It is a very fun ride. Keeping it under 6K rpm's means I am driving like an old lady, but I am commuting all this week on the bike so I should get the first 500 on it by weeks end. (Then I can really begin to review how the bike rides!)
I got a ton of admiring looks while out riding this weekend; lots of head-turning. It is definitely a sharp looking bike!
I love the gear indicator and the clock! (Missing on my previous bikes.) The seat is a snap to take on and off. Barely enough storage room for a puck and my lock under there.
