I just bought a new pair of riding boots that are considerably thicker than my old ones. I am running into shifting issues now. When I kick up to up shift and then let my foot back down it doesnt allow the shift lever to fall far enough to reset, so if I try to up shift again, it stays in the same gear. Is there away to adjust the lever farther up to stop this problem?

Yes you can adjust your Gear Lever.

- Undo the 3x Allen bolts (4mm) from the front sprocket cover and remove it. You can clearly see the gearlinkage now.
- You will find 2x 10mm nut on the gear stick that can be loosened. 1 of the bolts has a LEFTHANDED thread so be carefull that you not overtighten that nut thinking lefty-loosy ;) (I dont remember if its the upper or lower nut that has the lefthanded thread)

When they are unscrewed you can turn the gear stick and fiddle with it until you find a distance you find comfortable. It took me about 4-5 test rides before I had my lever set at a good distance when I got my new boots.

Good luck

I'd recommend using a sharpie to mark the current position on the shaft/stick so you can always go back to where it was when you started. Saved me some headaches in the past. Also gives you a better idea of how much moving the linkage changes the lever.
