Picked up a nail ,lucky I was washing the bike when I noticed it. So got my tyre repair kit out ,went to you tube and double check I know what to do.
I got the sticky goo strips kit {see video below}.. All was going well ,till I stick the goo strips into the sewing needle type eye on the tool ....this is the start of where it all went wrong. . The goo strips have string in the middle of them and as soon as I try to insert it into the hole in the tyre ,the goo just peels off and won't go in ...then I pull the tool out slowly and it breaks off ,Now i have another bit of metal sticking out of the hole where I pulled the nail out ...freaking stupid system . Not sure if they have a used by date ,but they didn't work .....I tried it on 3 strips with a screw driver pushing it into the hole ,so I can just get the bike to a shop for proper repair or replace.
I'll go with the other snap off system next time. Funny thing is ,my cars in the shop so I can't even take the tyre off and drive to get it fixed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdyLRdTRN3M

What a prick.
I bought the Cargol Turn 'n Go kit which looks really easy and straight forward. No glues, no strips, just a key shaped plug you twist in and snap off. Was $65 and came with 4 plugs, 4 gas cylinders, pliers, chalk, bag etc.... Thier claim is you can fix a puncture with the kit in 30sec.

I picked up a screw when my new Michelin was only 400km old. Repaire it with this kind of repairset.
This repair is still OK.
Just 3 weeks later an other puncture, that wasn't a round shape, just a bigger gap. Tried to repair it the same way, but it won't seal permanently. Every 3 months I have to renew it, because it's leaking a little. I did 11000km already on the Michelins. Still good to last through summer.

Yeah that the sort of kit I had Lampie . But the strips my of gone off ,so to speak ...they strips where very sticky ,not semi hard . Snap and go kit will be my next kit ,looks easy on the video.

The Cargol Turn 'n Go kit that BikerBoy has is as good as it sounds. I noticed my rear had a screw in it a few weeks ago with air slowly escaping while on the ferry crossing Berowa Waters. By the time the ferry got to the other side (only a few minutes) i had the hole fixed and the tire half inflated. I can't reccommend this product highly enough. Well worth the $60-

Good thing is this happened to ya at home, not out in the middle of nowhere at night with it raining & cold! My flat kit is similar to yours. HOPE my glue is better!!
