Congrats on the purchase Tristan. Looks like it's been kept in really good condition. Sure does look shiny in those pics. Hope you got a good deal and they looked after you. Your going love the 650F when you get a chance to get some k's on it!!!! The day I picked my 650F up I was in the same situation as you too. Out of the dealers and straight onto a busy gridlocked freeway, except I got stuck between two trucks. Not the best place to be on a bike your not used to. Welcome to the Fourm and I hope you enjoy the ride.

Today is a sad day - I have had to let my black beauty go - she served me well for the 18 months I had her and took me over 18,000 miles . I am sure she will find a nice new home with someone who will ride her a bit less and give her the TLC she deserves.
And the replacement well I have to say i feel a bit of a traitor to post it here but it's a nice Kawaski ZX6R - when it was delivered my wife asked if it was a new bike even though it is 7 years old (thats how good an example it is ).
The 650F was my first proper bike and I will miss her.......................

Hello Everybody!
I bought my Black GSX650F -08 in Oct last year and only drove it home to the garage. I just wanna say hi to everybody who got this fantastic bike ang looking forward to get rid of the snow, so we all in sweden can get our bikes out on the streets.
I've had my GSX650F for a year now and thoroughly enjoyed every one of the 5500 miles i've put on the clock. A friend talked me into fitting a carbon Scorpion exhaust on it a few days ago and all i can say is Wow! It looks great and the sound from it is just awesome with the baffle out. Now when i open up the throttle not only does it put a smile on my face but i cant help but laugh at the sound it makes. If any of you have been considering getting one fitted i can thoroughly reccomend it.

Picked up my 09 GSX650F in orange and black yesterday with .1 miles on the odo. As of right now I am at 88 miles and enjoying the warm weather we are having in VA. It's my fourth bike, and so far my favorite! A far cry from the HD XR1200 I just got rid of.... Want to mod it, just figured I would see what works for folks on here.
Hey all, I just bought a second hand 2008 model with givi panniers and top box. It's a great bike. Am still learning about the weight as it is a lot heavier than my last bike but I'll get there. Does anyone know about pillion riding course in NSW Australia?

Hi dorfus and all the new members.
Dorfus ,see the Stayup right website and do the advanced #1.. {its not that advanced but so don't worry} you can take a pillion and get tips. You can ride as fast or as slow as you like...NO pressure.

Got my 650F about 8 weeks ago, as a learner it has been a steep challenge but I'm getting the hang of it. Mine is the LAMS (Vic AU) version with the modded ECU, probably a few on this board already I suspect.
Current project is to get rid of the bazooka of an exhaust, change the undertray and hopefully find some frame sliders that don't require hole drilling, all locally supplied in AU of course.
Looking at the MGP Growler because I like the F1 open wheel look, not sure of compatibility tho.

Excuse me for hijacking this site. Since July of last year I've owned a 2007 GSF650F Bandit, the GSX650F predecessor. Aside from a few cosmetic differences, it's nearly identical to the GSX. The previous owner trimmed the rear fender a bit, added some LED turn signals to the back, gave it a dark tint Puig screen and a slightly dented Hindle pipe he'd picked up off of eBay. It has a great growl.
At 28,000 km (I've put 10K on myself) I'm in need of a new chain and sprockets. I do a fair amount of highway ridings so decided to go up to a 17 tooth sprocket up front thanks to the posts here:
File comment: Added Mountain Bike foam grips. From what I hear, they're very similar to Grip Puppies. Bought these from Canadian Tire for $3. They cut the vibes and I really like how the bigger diameter fits my XL hands. foam grips.jpg [ 62.61 KiB | Viewed 410 times ]

Hi everyone, I just bought my 2008 GSX650F on Saturday! I rode it all day Sunday and had so much fun. Unfortunately the Washington weather has kept it garaged the past three days.... I got the black one with 5400 miles on it, no mods except frame sliders. The first thing I'll do is switch out the exhaust. I am very impressed with this bike so far and it's easy to ride and easy to play with attitude. I learned two years ago on an old Yamaha 750 Maxim and WOW the difference is incredible, I am very happy with my choice! I had my eye on this bike ever since I first started riding, did a ton of research, read all the good things people say about it, and I finally got it! If only it would warm up in Seattle...
