Hi guys, I have a 2008 black & silver GSX650F with ~3,300 miles on it now. It is the third bike in my riding career, of which I'm now in my third year. I narrowed my choices to two models: the GSX650F and the 2007+ FZ6. I like the riding position of the FZ6 better but the torque of the GSX650F is ridiculously smooth and it handles beautifully at all speeds. I bought this particular bike with a Sargent saddle, Scorpion carbon fiber exhaust, tank bra, Rox risers, and Laminar Lip for $4,200 (USD) which was ~$500 less than what an unmodified 2007+ FZ6 was going for in my area regardless of mileage, let alone buying optional lower fairings for an additional $400.
I like the bike quite a bit. I am coming off of a 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 that while being quite fast for a cruiser, was a torture device after an hour of riding with its pathetic half-cruiser, half-standard riding geometry. I'm hoping the Suzuki will fulfill my desire of riding short tours to sightseeing destinations in the Northwest. The early results are positive.

My 650F is the most beautiful thing I own. Its also my first bike but it instills confidence and is easy to manage. A little on the heavy side but all things considered- It's well rounded.

Hi Guy's I just joined up today. I bought a 2009 K9 new about 3 months ago, and have 1400km on the clock at present. Suzuki NZ selling at a real good price, obvoiusly they wanted to get rid of old stock and sell the 2010 models. Mine is the Blue and White (with red F lettering) scheme which i really like. Prefer it to the bulkier 2010 scheme but that is just personal choice. Prior to the GSX I had a RF600 "R" for a number of years, and had just over 65000k's on it when I sold it. The RF had raw (and rough) grunt which was great around the hills and on the race track. I haven't put the GSX on the track yet (will get a few more k's up first) but it does feel more like an armchair to ride. But the GSX is still a nice bike to ride, less fatigue on the wrists and neck. It's just getting properly into our winter, riding to work on frosty mornings (-1 to -3C) is a bit hard on the fingers, even with good gloves. So next addition will be heated grips. cheers Whiskey

Hi Everyone,
A quick hello... My name's Luke from Melbourne, Australia.
I rode for around 15 years up until the last 6 years when my wife and I took a little break when we had kids.
After our little break we recently decided to buy another couple of bikes - a new GS500F for her, and a GSX650F for me.
Wheee!!! I started off on a '81 GSX250, then had a Yamaha XJ900, a Kawasaki GPZ900R, a finally GSX750F which I sold when we had kids. My wife's only had one bike - a sweet little '91 Suzuki Across, which we also sold when the kids came along.
The GS500F and GSX650F's that we picked up this week are fantastic! Both very different of course, but the GS500F is really going to suit my wife, and I just LOVE my GSX650F! It's what I've been waiting for all these years! Smooth, comfortable, exhilarating, good looking, and outstanding value (on the road for $10,000 AUD).
Both bikes only have around 250km on them at the moment, but I've been loving every minute of them (I have the pleasure of running them both in my my wife waits to do her refresher course before riding her new bike)!
... anyway - pleased to be here... nice forum you have here. Thanks!
Cheers,
Luke.

Hello all. I'm from mid-state Illinios originally, but live in central Tx now. I just got out of the Army, and am going to school full time...go GI Bill. I have the black/silver '08 GSX650F, its my first street bike and I love it. I bought it for my commute to and from school, but now I can't stay off it. I'm going to upgrade to a slip-on, however its the classic question of which one. I'm torn between a Yoshi and a Two Bros. (will be carbon fiber) After I figure that one its a LED intigrated tail light, if I can find a company that has one in stock. Then will come the fender eliminator, and at some point the red tape around the rims. I have already learned a great deal from the threads here, and hope to be able to give some worthwhile advice myself some day.
I'm Steve, live in Seattle. Just brought home an 08, used but with less than 3000 miles. The bike sports a Yoshimura slip on exhaust and a taller windscreen.
As to myself, I had a bike 30 years ago as a young man; I'm not exactly a beginner but the rust is thick. I'm looking forward to learning all I can both on my own and from all of you.
Hey guys, Im new to this forum. I own a k9 GSX650F since april 2010...It now has 7600kms...It's a really nice bike, the only thing that i don't like too much are the handlebars . It's almost completely stock but iv'e changed some pieces last weekend and a nice Leo Vince exhaust is waiting to being fitted
By the way, I am half Italian, half Dutch but i'm born in Luxembourg...Now i am currently studying transportation design in Turin (Italy). I ride since i am 16 and passed my big bike license last year. I was the happiest kid on the world that day :p I love to ride, and ride as much as i can. It's not only about speed or riding good, i also love to discover new places, to travel to other countries or doing senseless things like riding 1000km's on a 125cc in one day without taking the freeway! I am also planning to beat this record of mine with my GSx :p
Anyways, ride safe guys and maybe one day ill see you on the road!
Picked up my Orange GSX650FK9 last Thursday, only done 121 miles so far but loving it, can't wait to get it run in so that I appreciate it's true force.
Am enjoying reading the many comments and helpful tips on this forum.

Im a bit late in telling all what ive got. 2009 blue/white and im in Melbourne Australia. Yoshi slip on, tinted front screen, rear carbon hugger, 16 tooth front sprocket, heated hand grips, blue anadised bar ends. Not LAMS anymore LOL. Love this bike and im 45 years old.
I bought my GSX650F in 08. The dealer suggested that the retail value would be better in the suzi blue but i wanted a black one. Black would have been 3 weeks but blue was in stock. Well we're all impaitient so I bought a blue one. It's brilliant and faster than black. Now I've seen the 2010 colours I really like the all dark blue. I'm so fickle! It's still a brilliant bike. How fast can you go in 1st gear?
Hey Everyone, I just placed a deposit on a used 2008 GSX 650 F, It only has 583 miles on it and I got a nice deal. He is also including his F-10 HCJ Helmet which new is $250, I tried it on and fits pretty well. One less thing I have to get.
This is my first bike and my only real concern is the weight of the bike. Im not small by any means but im also not that big. 5'9'' 170lbs. Going to pick it up wednesday and load it onto a trailer. So Excited!
I was concerned about the weight when I got mine and it's a bit unstable at walking pace but use a bit more throttle when pulling off and it keeps upright.
I am new on this forum, so it seems like a good idea to introduce myself. My name is Deirdre, i'm 29 and living in Holland (Rotterdam). I'm the proud owner of a blue/white GSX 650 F GT since August this year. I will try to put a picture in this post, but i'm not sure it will work (not very handy with computers)...
Anyway, very nice to meet you all. I hope to read a lot of interesting things on this forum.
Like the panniers. Who makes them and where can I get some in the UK?
