I'm hoping to get some advice with mounting pelican 1430s on my gsx650f. I recently was able to obtain a pair of black pelican 1430s for a c note. I'm trying to figure out my options for mounting them on the gsx. I saw many other boards mounting them using different racks but I don't feel like fabricating a set of racks like another member of this board has.

I was looking at the swmotech racks, the new tubular ones at this link:
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/pr ... /4860/696/
Like the fact that they are easy to remove. I know you can order pelican adapters with it but the pics of it show it mounting on pelican 1550s only. I get the feeling the adapters are too big for the pelican 1430s.
I saw this adapter kit for happy trails racks:
http://www.happy-trail.com/Happy-Trails ... t-Kit.aspx

I emailed twisted throttle about the size issue with their pelican adapters, they never emailed me back. The happy trails rack said:
"If the mounting surface is flat. You will need to measure the thickness of
the rack and determine whether it is .610, .710 or .759 thick."
Twisted throttle still hasn't returned my inquiry so I don't know how thick the swmotech racks are.

Anyone have any answers for this?

Anyone have better suggestions? Happy trails doesn't make a rack for gsx650f.
Any advice suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have a metal shop by the way or I would make something myself. If anyone does have a metal shop and would let me use it... :)
