I have just found this forum, registerd and he´re is my first post. I´m from Utrecht wich is in the center of Holland.
I don´t own a suzuki gsx 650f yet, but last saturday i had one for a testdrive, and i must say it drives pretty well!

Since my last bike , a cbr600f from 2007 did not survive an accident in a traffic jam, i have to get me another one.
And because i use it on a daly basis, i was looking for more relaxed bike to drive. I think i just found it in the suzuki.

I´m planning on ordering a brand new one by the end of this week, as soon as the insurance company pays me. :D
So i hope that i can get some usfull information from you guys, since you all own one.

My bike will be a black one with abs and a center stand. Now i was thinking, that i want another set of tyers on it straight away, because the stock ones did not convince me. On the honda i had michelin pilot road 2, wich were pretty good, and i´ve seen some good reactions here as wel. If someone has suggestions on good tyres for the gsx, please let me know. I am looking for a tyre with good handeling in wet conditions, and do not wear rapid.

Are there other things wich are a `must have`on this bike?

I will put on heated grips (cls heat) en a scottoiler eSystem my self

Greetings, Sander

 Heee another Dutchy
We've got some great dikes to ride, and other country roads.

Welcome here.
I have my second set Michelin Pilot Road 2ct on the GSX now
Front tire lasted 22000km, and wasn't worn completely yet.
But better be safe than sorry I replaced them at 1,2mm
Don't want an other brand anymore.
Also have heated grips on my bike, you can use them now.
The forcast for next thursday is SNOW

And also take a peek overhere for more Suzuki fun

Indeed another 'Dutchy' :D

+1 for the Michelin PR2 tires, they're great!
If you ride all year long I suggest getting a rear hugger for the road debris. Kept my rear shock as clean as when I bought the bike in 2008!

BTW I'm from Oegstgeest, just above Leiden.

I've done my last ride today I guess. I'm a fun rider and dont need it for commuting (5km on the bicycle). With the snow and cold forecast after this week its no fun to ride the bike anymore for me. 3 months of waiting :(

Nice to see some Dutch people over here! With the snow forecast i decided that it's probably better to have the bike delivered in 2011! If this will be a winter like last year even I won't drive. Drove the honda till half of december last year, then had 2 more rides in January, and had to stop till march!

I guess i will go for the michelins! Now I have to find out if the dealer wants to give away the michelins :)

The rear hugger, it isn't an original suzuki part right? Can you tell me where you got yours?

If there are more Dutch, perhaps we could make a drive togheter next year?

Really can't wait to get on a bike agian, but first i ve to recover from the accident. The testdrive last saturday did not help! My hand now hurts like on the day of the crash :( Perhaps one week of recovery just wasn't enough.

I got the original Suzuki. Went to my dealer (Groenewold in Delft) for a chat and oil/filter for 6k service and I looked at the K9 model displayed in the showroom. It had a hugger on it and I told one of the guys there I maybe wanted one. He said I was lucky since someone ordered the hugger but never picked it up. Got it at a 30% discount and they mounted it for free. I believe it sat me back 150,-.
I dont think your dealer is gonna put the PR2 on for free, but if you pay about 100,- I think you can make a deal, but you can aim for a little less then that of course :D. The front+rear PR2 costs 230,- delivered via mopedreifen.de.

Dont know how serious the crash was, I had a highsider with my F this summer and landed on the right side of my helmet and on my right wrist/hand. Still hurts if I put a specific amount of pressure on it.

A get together sounds nice, but there is a slight/big possibility I'm not riding the F anymore next summer. I'm looking at a CB1000R or Speed Triple as a replacement for my F. But still deciding of its gonna be next year or 2012 before buying one. Also want to move out of my folks house so gotta keep the savings account filled up :)

Searched the suzuki site for the hugger, but nothing there! Do you have a part number perhaps? Mayby it's on the bill? The tripple is nice! But i don't think we can keep up with you if you get a cb1000r or a speed triple!

The crash wasn't that hard, but the car hit me on the left clip-on, moving the front end to the right. My thumb was moved towards my wrist becouse of that. Doctor sad it could take weeks before it wil be normal.

Very strange, can't find it on either version of the 650F on the Dutch Suzuki website.

Since the 650F is 'just' a Bandit 650 with Gixxer fairing I searched on the Bandit and came up with this.

http://194.178.160.219/nimagweb/suzuki/ ... duct/10246

But I cant be sure if its gonna fit your ABS model is well. Since the North American market doesn't have ABS as an option, all aftermarket parts now available are still for the non-ABS model. I'm almost 100% sure the original Suzuki hugger I have is not gonna fit on your bike without some modifications. Because of the ABS you probably have a return line for the rear brake. The standard fittings/clamps that come with the hugger are meant for the 1 brake line version. Also there may be some filing involved to clear the brake lines. But again I dont know for sure since I never seen a ABS fitted 650F before.

Hi svi79 and greetings from Australia. 8)

Hope you enjoy your new bike. Must haves for me were a new exhaust to replace the quiet standard can (so motorists can hear me), HEL brake lines as I thought the original lines were spongy.

Ride safe and enjoy :D

Thanks! They couldn't find it either in their parts catalog. So no hugger for now. Still have a month to find one ;) Could you post a picture of yours? So I can have a good look on it?
