Does anyone watch TOPGEAR ??
You can hear the phrase 'How hard can it be' in almost every episode.

Well.... after a hard winter, I want to strip the bike, and get rid of the brown rust-monster.
I have to replace chain and sprockets, change front brakepads, change brakelines and get rid of the haze in he headlight.
How hard can it be ?

Just to give you an impression of the bike after 1 hour of taking off all plastic bits, some screws and a little bit more.

This is the haze

don't take out these 5 screws !

Because front and rear are glued together

Little tip, if you got a leak in your headlight, moist is building up, than apply a layer of silicon over the joint, hand hope it's sealed

I'll make more pictures tomorrow.
(toke 2 days leave to get this job done)

Damn, and I think I had a dirty engine underneath the fairings :)
Did you get the R/R and replace it yourself or are you still bringing it to the dealer for it. Now is/was a perfect time to do it yourself :)

That's a lot of rust for a relatively young bike, is it caused by salt on the road? I ride in all weather but my bike doesnt have that kind of rust (at least, I hope not...).

Perhaps a dozen cans of WD40 will fix it ;)

Tomorrow I have to buy a headlight, the haze didn't go away, and i've made it worse :x
I found a used one, for half the price of new.
Sadly my Xenonbulb didn't make it... I broke it.
Now you know why my nick is Lampie.... I've got different sets of Xenon in stock :D
Tomorrow, a new day, a new headlamp and a new bulb.

YES

But now we've got a garagebox near our house (300 meters away)
Less moist, no more snow.
