I am 5'4" and i have a Kawasaki 500 that i have been riding in jersey here. Its a pretty short bike. Not too big and very slim. I am looking to upgrade to a 650F but i think my height is kind of an issue, lets just say it is the issue thats bothering me. There a GSX650F in my neighborhood for sale for $4k w/ 3k miles on it. Its a 08 and seems like a good buy. I sat on it and it felt like i was on my toes both down. Does it get better with time?
I am 5'4" 160 lbs . Any other 5'4" out there on a GSX650F?

I'm 6'3" and 180lbs but it is still pretty good. Long trips need stretch breaks but it really isn't bad compared to other sport bikes I've ridden (ie: gsxr600, r6, etc).

Here I am again, I am 5' 1" and 135 lbs. Had the bike lowered 2" at the dealer and kickstand cut about 1" and am flatfooted now on pavement. If you lower bike, check to make sure if front needs to be lowered also and your headlight is adjusted correctly. The bike is great!

Hi, I am a short, fat ugly old man just 5' 4" and I had this bike lowered 1" and have not modified the sidestand. I find that I can now flatfoot the bike and feel comfortable on it in any situation, of course I have also been riding for around 46 years and lots of my other bikes have been taller and heavier, I also have a Suzuki Burgman AN650 and the seat height on this is higher than the GSX 650F. Regards Bob

I'm a shade under 6 feet tall, 210 lbs, 30 inch inseam give or take, and I can flat foot the bike on both sides, if I want to. That has proved helpful when backing up, and when moving my bike around on a sloping gravel driveway.

Can't give you advice about the height issue since I don't ride a gSX650F. I did seat on one multiple times and came from a NInja 500 to an FZ6 (I ended up getting a 3cm lowered seat for the FZ). Most riders, once they put mileage under their belts are comfortable with taller bikes. Look at the racers - they are all short and tiptoe or just land on the left. While 5'4" is not tall for a guy, it is the average height of the American woman and think about how many female riders re out there...I say go for it - the price is excellent at $4k. It will take you a few weeks to get used to the height and width, but if you keep riding it will come quickly. I am ready to go back to my normal seat and I increased the preload on my rear spring sop the bike is even taller (since it doesn't sag with my weight). my wo cents...

Try the bandit 1250 seat, it as another 20mm adjustable height available.

I'm 5' 8" and it's fine for me.
If you haven't already, try sitting on it / riding it with your bike boots on as this can make quite a bit of difference. At 5' 4", I would expect you to be fine with it if I'm honest having seen my wife sit on mine (easy matron) while checking the oil and she's 5' 2".
I wouldn't rush to lower it unless you feel you really need to. Another bike to look at in the same class is the Kawasaki ZZR600 which has a very low seat height, straight 4 600cc. Pro's are that it is very quick, cheap to insure, no fuel injection 'features' and bullet proof motor. Con's are no gear position indicator (which I love on the GSXF), quite heavy, discontinued model (but there are zillions of them out there).
