I do believe that iron man put the grip on my throttle and therefore I have tried countless times getting it off to put my new ones on... I really dont want to break it due to the core is plastic so if there is a technique then that would help alot!

I cut mine off with a stanley knife. Just run down the length of the grip slowly, and not too deep, and you can peer them off... Easy. Putting the new ones back on though, that was a pain in the arse. I dont know if my hot grips were designed to go over our throttle or handle bars, but through persistance i got them on there.

What the guys said ,just cut it off.
And use girls hair spray to put the new ones on . Putting the spray "in" the new grip and slide on ,its like a lube ....but when it drys its sets hard ,like glue.

WD-40 works well to fit grips on, just spray a bit on the inside of the grip and wipe it around. Then be amazed as the grip slides on effortlessly and allows you to adjust the position exactly how you want it. Wait a few hours for it to dry (leaving it overnight is best but it only takes like 30mins for it to get tacky) and you're ready to ride. WD-40 gets absorbed into the grips and makes them extra sticky, hair spray does not do this and must evaporate (longer wait).

Sled really is the master of all lubricants... Wish i knew the hairspray or brake cleaner when i put my hotgrips on... That was a bitch... Could have saved me a few hours out the front of the girlfriends parents house yelling at my bike and carrying on, calling it all the names under the sun... Could have saved her mother a few grey hairs too i spose...
