On a serious note, another thread here ( ecu-modifi-t2750.html ) discusses something totally unconnected with this, but I am suspicious that the black/white wire from the "dealer connector" goes to pin 30 of the ECU (Mode Select), and the red/white next to it goes to switched +12V... So bridging these two pins applies +12V to the pin 30 of the ECU and puts it into the diagnostic mode. Am I correct?

Never considered it to be honest but a quick check of the wiring diagram should confirm it or if not (the wiring diagram is missing some info) then you could disconnect the ECU and battery and check for continuity between the pins

Also, the cover on the "dealer connector"... is it just a plastic dust cover or does it also have wiring inside it to jump some other pins in the connector when the bike is in the "normal mode"? I could check for myself, but I don't have time until the weekend.

Dust cover, but if you wanted to do so, you could get the pins, inserts etc that are needed and make your own dealer switch using the cover.

I've answered my own questions while waiting for you, Dhula.

Wires in the dealer connector are NOT the wires related to mode selector. And the dust cap is marked with white paint. My bike is brand new, and I don't want (or need) to use it, so I left it alone.

What I didn't leave alone, though, is the mode selector wire ;) I did it inside the harness cover. There is indeed a join of 3-4 wires hidden inside under the black harness sleeving. I snipped the offending wire and then put it back between the layers of insulation, replaced the sleeving and Bob's your uncle...

I'm a slack arse I know it.
I don't get on this forum much now-a-days, but on occasion I turn up for a while.
