Just a little tale of inattentive driver. I have 14 miles on my 08 GSX650F. I almost died this morning on my way to work. I was coming up to a 2 way stop, my street had the right of way (no stop signs) and the cross street had stop signs. Its 8am, and there is plenty of light. I see a rather large SUV on the cross street approaching the intersection, so I decide to slow down...she stops. I see that she saw me, and proceed cautiously through the intersection at a slow 15mph...then bam! she hits the accelerator and narrowly misses my left leg. She slams on the brakes and gives me the bird. Latte in one hand and a cell phone in the other she screamed at me and told me to learn how to drive. I restrained my primal instinct to punch her in the face, and instead politely told her that this this was only a 2-way stop and that in the future she should watch for cross traffic. Just because they look at you doesn't mean they "see" you. Needless to say, I'm taking the dbkiller out of my leovince.

Glad to hear that you are ok, i lost one of my best friends in a very similar situation, only in his case it was a UPS truck and the driver did not even bother to look, i was two bikes back from him and had the terrible job of having to tell his wife that he was not comming home this time.

again, glad you are ok...and good job slowing down even though she looked at you, i think that if my buddy Sean had done the same, he might still be here today.

Loud pipes do save lives. I'm confident that a few revs up to 10k with the dbkiller off would have gotten her attention quicker.

Glad to hear you are ok ubercellogeek. There are some real dickheads on the road. Good idea to remove the baffle - you do get heard that way.

Damn good thing you slowed down.
I was in heavy traffic yesterday behind a work truck, getting ready to lane split as there would be a slow down soon up a small hill. Instead of slowing down though, everyone stopped.
I could have stopped no problem but I didn't want to get sandwiched on the back of this guys truck from the dude behind me so I decided to get the hell off the freeway and fly into a closed lane, slaloming through some cones hehe.

Every single person wants to kill you, at all times.
Your story definitely encourages me to desire a new exhaust even more.

Glad you're all ok, looks like it's everywhere the same with those stupid drivers. Today i had my lucky escape. Driving along on the highway to pick up my girl from work, on the left side doing 120 km/h (or 75 m/h). When i look to the right i see a guy on his mobile so he's busy talking (phone on his left side so i think probably he hasn't seen me, time to get out before he does something stupid). And all of a sudden that monkey steers towards me, can't speed up cause i don't have enough space in front of me. So swerve to the left and slam on the brakes and simultaneously slam on the horn. That donkey suddenly swerves all the way to right on the bus lane and then gets back. Riding next to him i let him know that he must look out, so he gives me the finger. I was angry for that dumbass action and that makes my blood boil even more. I see that he is going to stop at a gas station and for a minute I'm thinking about following him and giving him a piece of my mind. Then thinking about picking up my girl so I give him the thumbs up (nice going ......) and continue my way. When I stopped I first had smoke to calm me down and now thinking about it it makes my blood boil again. Time for a beer. All of you be safe and don't trust those donkey drivers.
