First off I covered the side panels in 3M Di-NOC caborn vinyl everybody who as seen them asked me where I got them as they look like real carbon fibre well I made them myself.
now I appear to have the carbon fibre bug and have wrapped the insturment souround and have more 3M DI-NOC on order to cover all the black placstic around the front of the fairing
The instrument suround was the hardest thing I have every tried to wrap but I can't recomend 3m DI-NOC highly enough is the best vinyl wrap I have ever used I got mine from Carbon Vinyl UK - Carbon Fibre Wrap Material for Cars & Motorbikes
I will give you some tips
don't eat yellow snow and look both ways before crossing the road
the side panels have to be done in two pieces joined through the crease
if you have never tried vinyl wrapping don't try the instrument soround as your first bit its very difficult I managed it in one peice with a lot of swearing
you need to use lot of heat a hair dryer is fine on full blast you need a soft rubber squidgy to push it right in the the edges of corners and some times you will need to cut internal corners with a scalpel.
I would only recomend 3m DI-NOC I have tried other stuff and it rubbish in comparison

Wow, good work! How about dropping by my house with some of that stuff? And then applying it? I'd screw that up for sure.
Clear coat sounds like a good idea.

Reading through the product description of the 3M website, it's made very clear that this product is not UV protected, and is for interior use only. I'd be interested to see how this holds up long term. It sure does look great. Did you use any primer or otherwise prepare the surfaces?

How is the instrument bezel lining holding up? Does it still look like the picture you posted? If so, I'm tempted to install on mine, what's the 3m sheet size do I need for the bezel?
