I need to wire up my GPS into the bike, and I would rather not wire it straight to the battery. Before I go digging around with my multi-meter I thought I would ask - anyone know a good ignition switched power source for a low power device? Thanks!
Well, I thought about that, but I *really* don't like screwing around with wiring to lights and such. I suppose I could use the low beam light as a signal wire to a solenoid... I'm just thinking out loud now.

Yes, that's a good option too.
I have a relay with a fuse for my heated grips and HID Xenon. It is mounted near the battery, so the wires with +12V power are very short. For an Ignition signal I found a big fat orange wire, on the fusebox , behind the left black fairing under the seat. Ignition on, relay on, Xenon on, and when cold... also warm hands, Xenon stays on when starting the bike. Not like the stock electrics, that switch of the low beam when the starterbutton is pushed

I wired my GPS in to the low beam. Worked just fine.
Cheers.

I ended up wiring it to the fused side of the "Signal" wire. It is such a low draw (1500mah) that I could probably put it anywhere and be fine. This works though!
