As I said in another thread I got hit a couple weeks back.. Well, I got the settlement from the dudes insurance.. $3800 to repair my bike.

I could have sent it to the shop and made it back to brand new stock condition.. but what fun is that? haha I spent the last few days pouring over websites and finding the little toys that I want to get on the bike..

I found the fairing for $250 cheaper then my local dealer.. So I took a ride this morning and picked the 2 lowers, cc cover, and passanger footrest bracket. All in all that saved me $575.

just ordered the ermax undertail, puig db wind screen, pazzo levers, power bronze rear wheel hugger, HID kit, Yoshi TRC slip on, and comp werks pegs for rider and passenger.

All in all to have the bike looking better then new (IMO) it will set me back about $2,200.. Not too bad! I will post pics when it's completly done.

They where going to write the bike off as a total loss, but I talked them into just giving me the repair estimate costs as the bike is still drivable, and all dammage that he caused was cosmetic.

Also, as an FYI I found that both the levers, and pegs are the same as the 1250 AND the Hayabusa so that might make shopping a little easier for those who are looking to replace those parts.

have you had someone look at your frame just in case?

its amazing how little it takes to damage a frame of a motorcycle and if there's any damage at all it becomes a write off and has to be destroyed in the UK.

Oh yea, and pictures...

Thats one advantage the Mini-Musa have a big ole healthy steel frame. Here you can always pickup a bike as salvage. While that's good you also have to be aware that many people will buy two for little of nothing than make one and you can get a salvage title. Then transfer it to another state then resell it and you have a CLEAN title.

I've also bought several bikes over the years (Popular ones) and parted them out and made $$$ of the purchase cost then simply took the parts I couldn't sell to the scrap heap and sold it as scap. I wouldn't ever sell a bike with a salvaged title. But you many will. You have to be careful.

In the UK when a bike is scraped where does all the parts go. Surly they don't destroy them do they. There is a growing motorcycle salvage part business in the US. I've managed to but engines and wheels and swing arms from damaged bikes.

The engines I sell to SCCA races, the wheels and swing arms after checking to ensure they're straight to street races. There's gold in people to stupid to know how to ride a bike.........

Whats the old saying.....A fool and money are soon parted..

Hey coolaid. Great work. I'm glad everything is working out in your favor. Its always goos when something good turns out from a bad thing.
One Question. You say the levers are the same as a 1250 and a Hyabusa.
Any particular year model. Would that be the new busa or the old? I'm not really sure if there is even a differenc but I the reason I am asking is that my wife is wanting some new levers and this will make it easy to get some really wicked ones. Thanx

I compared with the 08 busa.. I didn't go any further back then that, but most sites list all years as compatable. I will let you know 100% once I get them in the mail and slap em on :)

I can tell you that levers from a busa fit the 650F just fine. I mentioned that several months ago and have been running them on mine since then.

yea, that is where I got the info for the levers. TY! I did a cross check and the clutch is the same part # but the brake is different.. I'm hoping there is no issue, but I will let you know. The pegs on the other hand match up exactly for the rears.. the fronts are not the same though.. I will be taking one for the team if they don't fit, but I am pretty sure they will. They should be here within the week so I will keep you all updated.

Hey coolaid, any updates on the levers? Im about to purchase those levers as well as long as they will fit. I matched the clutch levers so they will be the same, but the question I got is the same about the brake lever. Will it fit no mods?

The levers bolt right up.. The guy at the shop took FOREVER to get them in.. 2 weeks later I went in and he said "I wasn't sure that the 08 Busa ones would work because you need a hydrolic clutch.. I told him I HAVE a hydrolic clutch and just order what I asked him to order. I got them in a few days later and the install took about 10 minutes. one of the best mods I have done so far.

got them off ebay. The dealer was local to me so I picked them up to save shipping as well.

some shots of the bike as of now.. waiting on the rear pegs which should be in this week. I went to the shop with one of the old pegs and we are pretty sure that the gsxr600 rears will bolt right up.. I'll find out when they come in.
