i like the look! i must commend you, seems like it would be some work to do that! did you have a pair of clamps laying around or something to get the bar ends to attch to the forks? are you limited at all in your turning?

I also got rid of the stock mirrors, reminded me of a scooter, but i found myself looking back at traffic to see what was behind me and that was just very unsafe (although the look is much bette). I installed the inter graded mirrors which are on there now and have a better angle on them

Just look up vortex 41mm clip ons on google you will find a ton of them. And I got board one day and seen a few people had done the mod and really liked the look and feel of the ride. I bought my clipons and took them to work and someone from work helped me put the bar ends on. I just took them off the bike before. Most people loose them anyways after a few hours of riding.

Hi,
Bike looks great. I have a couple of questions re the mods,
1. How is it for bar vibration? I have found after 30mins at between 80-110kph my right hand is tingling with the standard bar (rubber mounted), bike is still new, only has 1800km on it.
2. The chopped exhaust, what has the effect been on power? Does anyone know if this can cause damage to the engine?

I hear you can burn up a valve but I havent noticed any difference it is a lot louder for my daily driving I usually have the exhaust on there but when I feel like I want to make a lot of noise I take it off. I dont notice the vibrations. Only on really bumpy roads it starts to bug a little but i feel more comfortable overall with the clipons rather than the stock handlebar.

Hi guys!
I've got into crash (tire blow-up).....
I see so many of you installed clip ons,
do you have STOCK HANDLEBAR availible?
It would be a great gift to me (I'll pay shipping etc)
or if you can't present it to me, tell me how much (but please don't go high. I'm broke now)
Thank you very much!

The clip-ons look really good, but I am also curious as to how it effects rider position and handling.

Just go to a wreckers ,the bars are 7/8 size ...bars are a universal part you can get new one for $50 ..see any large bike shop.

I did clip ons installed LSL. For me it is very comfort and no numbness in hands, on long rides.
The clip on with the sargent seat and me long and 6 foot, it is great.

One thing the center chrome stem nut, do torque to 45 Nm 32 Foot Pounds then turn back 1/2 -1/4
if too tight will load upper bearing and cause heavy steering and wear, under will be loose and a click
will be heard under hard front braking.

This is exactly what I am planning to do with mine. I haven't really taken it out so I don't know about the vibration, but I am a tall guy (taller than f104s) and I really need to get a bit more "reach" on the handlebars. The seat is steep and actually pushes me into the tank (which I am told is a proper way to ride) but I would really like the handlebars to be a bit further out. In case I am wrong (it's been known to happen) I will keep the standard bar.

The clip-ons I am planning to use are "Woodcraft" and there is no need to take off the top tree, the clamp part is actually made in two pieces just for this. I am not really worried about dropping the forks to install a different brand, but these are easier and similar price as the Vortex, so why not? Another reason is that in case of a drama with the bike and Suzuki declines a warranty claim on the basis of me dismantling the front end - I didn't :)

By the way, would there be a problem with the warranty if this is done to the bike? Any ideas?

Hi The woodcraft IS a VERY good one, if i had not gone with LSI, The Woodcraft
would be on my 650 too. The hand position is easy to do and allows for the wrists to be flat
with clip ons and that does give a lot more input when u counter steer.

I think u be ok re warranty. Do make sure u adjust bars so u get lock to lock.

Yeh, I'll make sure to get it on properly lock-to-lock. The pictures in this and another thread on this subject are encouraging, obviously it can be done with a bit of fiddling.
And I will have to do something about the seat... my arse feels funny after only few minutes. Or maybe it's all just new to me and I need a bit of getting used to it.

Welll the "Stock seat not tail friendly" check out corbin or sargent, your tail will thank u.
kidding aside, a good saddle will allow proper riding and unless u want to slide the seat left right,
u stay in position during hard braking and cornering.
