I bought 41mm clip-ons for my bike and finally decided to try and install them myself. i was going to post a step by step with pictures but did not have a camera at the time. i will be posting pictures very soon and explain the process a bit b/c i know i was really searching this forum for this DIY install. the clip-ons are absolutely the best mod i could have done for this bike. The riding position and handling on the bike has changed dramatically and has a very street like feel now.
I mounted the clip-ons underneath the triple clamp and have almost full turning, except the fact the brake reservoir hits the gauge cluster when turning left. i tried several scenarios with angling the bars and lengthening and shortening the bars to get my maximum turning, and have found a good happy medium. I am slightly limited in full turning but while driving sharp corners and full speed ive lost nothing.
This was a very easy install and although i know its recommended to raise the front end up while removing the top triple clamp, i did not and i had no problems removing or putting the clamp back on. the clamp was only off for the few seconds to slip the brackets on each fork, then quickly re-installed the clamp.
I actually have another pair of the exact same clip-ons for sale if anyone is interested in doing this.

I have to ask! If you went to all that trouble to install clip ons, why didn't you just buy a bike that already had that riding position and the clips ons as factory equipment? For me the riding position was a big plus on this bike over an SV650/1000 or a GSXR.
main reasons 1. couldn't afford a real gsxr at the time 2. It was my first bike and didn't do alot of research first (dealer talked me into it) 3. that was there main selling point is that it is much more comfortable to ride. I bit and come to find out.....i really wanted the more aggressive riding position after all.
Ive done alot to the bike for me to feel happy with it, i know there are alot of others trying to do the same thing to there bike so this is not for haters. I know id be happier with a street bike but im learning to love the bike more and more as i make changes. thanks for the comments tho!
