Nice warm day and time to start up and go for a ride, (first start of the day) except the motor turned over but would not start. I pushed the starter button several times and no way it wanted to catch. Had to call hubby and ask for assistance. He pushed starter a little longer than i did , it finally started but acted like a bike that was flooded. We just kinda let the bike idle a little without touching the throttle. It seemed fine the rest of the day. I had been using the bike almost every day for the last couple of weeks and no problem , tried it today and no problem. Maybe or twisted the throttle when i first started, I just can't remember? I didn't think that a fuel injected bike could get flooded? Hoping I have no more problems, I will talk to the dealer when I go for my 6,000 km check. Has anyone ever had this happen?

I think it could be "BBS" - Black Bike Syndrome

Could also be all the cold weather you guys get over there and the bike is not used to a warm day and the fuel vaporised.

Seriously, don't know. I haven't had a problem (yet). Hope it's not serious, good idea to check with the dealer.

Cheers from Oz.

Went out today for coffee, about 3 hours ago bike fired right up. I also put premium gas in it , i was putting regular as manuel says . Figured i would try a little higher grade gas for a bit.

Spark plug may have had a bit of a build up on it so it wasn't firing properly.

I still can't figure out why people operate under the assumption that premium gas somehow burns better than regular. I does not. If the manual say use regular, use regular. There is absolutely no benefit using premium in this bike.

I can say with the utmost in confidence that your starting problem had absolutely nothing to do with the grade of fuel.

Is the ECM in the bike like OBD2 in cars? Meaning it will store all codes even if it is not a major problem.
