Here is a tip ....take the rain liner out of the jacket and put it on . You will notice some are very small like a vest ,this will be your rain coat when riding home after the weather turn to crap. Try to get one with a liner that comes down the the bottom of the jacket ,not half way up the jacket....if you get my drift.

Don't know how well It'll work, but I just picked up an Olympic Motosport GT Air Transition. Has a double liner and the outer shell has 4 unzip and fold away panels (2front chest and 2 on back) that open to reveal mesh sections, also 12" arm vents. Works OK so far, don't how It'll do in the heat. Personally when it gets really hot (99+) I prefer a solid jacket with a small bit of venting, you know air hotter than body temp.---good luck---Luke
I got a Power Trip Powershift II convertible jacket. It's really three in one, as you can unzip the full-fabric outer to leave yourself with a summer-compatible mesh jacket, with CE-rated elbows and shoulders, and back-protection.
It also has a removable rain-liner. It was $179. Great value, great jacket. Only downside is limited color availability. you can get Black/black or black/grey.

I have the Olympia AST Jacket in the neon yellow. I haven't had to wear the lining in it yet, and I didn't find it too warm in the summer, despite the video referencing it as a "cold weather" jacket.

What do you mean "Looking Ahead", we are smack bang in the middle of summer !
I bought a mesh jacket (Dri-Rider, if any Aussies are interested) and it was really quite good. The ventilation helps immensely in the hot weather. I wasn't too impressed by the wet-weather aspect though. Too many zips and velcro tabs and blah blah blah. The only time rain matters to me is if I am on my WAY to somewhere. If I am on my way home I don't care, I just have a warm shower when I get home. The jacket doesn't fit anymore, so nowadays I just ride in a t-shirt. I would rather have the flesh torn from my body than shell out another $200 for a larger jacket. Commence ATGATT flame war......NOW!

This is the jacket I have for summer riding. Used to 2 summers now and still in good nik. The rain liner goes all the way to the bottom of the jacket and the cuffs of the sleeves. I don't use it tho (the liner) as I've removed it and carry a cheep arse light weight rain jacket instead (it's fluro yellow which helps in low light but looks gay)
The jacket is great for 40+ degree days but when you stop at the lights it gets hot. But what doesn't

I went with the Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0. Rain liner stores on your back, and feels great in hot weather when stripped down to the mesh and armorr. Plus it was the only one I found that fit my somewhat awkward shape.
